I doubt it had anything to do with that. Some people are just crazy. History has also proven a socialist system can do the same as well as a nazi system will do the same. Stalin killed 11 million of his own people. Hitler killed over 6 million. The Baath party is estimated to have killed around 500,000 Kurds just in the 80's alone. The Romans loved blood and gore. The Greeks poisoned Socrates. Lot's of civilizations as a whole has practiced things such as sacrifice and death. None of those systems were capitalist. This capitalist society here is appalled by the recent shootings.

Wow.

Only just seen this on the news.
Been busy with a PS3 so haven't seen or read any news.

Sickening.

RIP to the victims.

totally agree with BobbyBangin, fact is, we are animals, some us can control ourselfs, others can't. it's like tha fat guy, can't stop eating even if it kills it, like the sex addict, can't stop of having sex until she/he gets an viral, like the junkie and so on. vice and out of control is a pleonasm.
We are the only animal who enjoys killing our own kind and others of course.

12 people killed, 59 injured for a total of 71 victims.
This guy was a phd student. He was smart and he planned this out. He was wearing bulletproof gear, leggings and a vest, along with a gas mask for the tear gas he threw in there. This wasn't your average wacko shooting at people, this was a tad more planned out.

Neither did the ******bag kill himself, he got arrested next to his car behind the theater minutes after the shooting.

Taking his smarts into consideration, even if gun control was more strict, this dick would have probably walked on over to a black market. There however he would have received an M16 and not the semi auto AR15 he had.

I also live here in the States and to be honest I have to agree with Greg's sentiment as well. I was at my parents' when I heard the news and my mother said something that is very true "I know we have murders happening all over the world, but everywhere else it's because of crime.... here it's for no reason" meaning you mostly get these psycho's here.

These things make me rue the second amendment because I am absolutely sure this is not what the supreme court had in mind when it was drafted. Not to turn this into a pro-gun vs anti-gun thing, but I just don't see the point in people being allowed to carry guns outside their homes. For protection? HA! Thieves want your money, but if they know you have a gun they won't hold you up, they'll stave/shoot you first and then take your money... and your gun too. A civilian that only uses his weapon in a shooting range isn't going to handle himself as well as a criminal, rarely it will work out in the citizens favor, but the majority of the time some upstanding citizen tries to act like a hero he loses more than if he had just surrendered the $$.

I would do the same if somebody generalized someplace else like that but I don't see that here. I've seen people get infractions/warnings for using homophobic slurs, ethnic, racial, and basically everything else but when it comes to America I've noticed it's fair game. Ever noticed how I've never said one negative thing about anybody else as it pertains to any of the above mentioned? It's because I have respect for everybody else. People are just people everywhere and anywhere.
im from Australia and people here are so bloody racist, and i agree with what u say, if some one generalizes any other country or race its instantly called racism but people dont give a second thought about generalizing Americans,
over here its partly the media, there is a general message sent out that "you may have no freedom very little rights most of you will be in debt by the time your 18, but at least your not in America" which to me it is just another way of turning peoples attention away from the corruption of our own country, but i could go on about that all day. i think every country has there faults and i wont take a second thought before speaking out about them, but the main reason that the world generalizes America is because its number 1 and every other 1st world country government feels a need to answer to America (this was worse when bush was in) but people are always going to hate the the powers that be because something or other is wrong in there life and America is simply the scapegoat that most people use. i think most of the world should be ashamed of its self, but most people prefer to blame someone else.

Thank you. That makes me feel a lot better. Especially since I'm moving to Australia in December. Don't get me wrong, there are things about society here that sickens me. And I'm not the biggest fan of capitalism. I know everybody isn't as open minded as I am. I just feel like if you're not part of the solution then you're part of the problem. Why help spread the hate? You're right, it wouldn't matter who was in control, nothing would be different. We all still owe homage to the man...at least that's what he thinks.
