Follow my tutorial in the C2D.exe thread.. right at the end it says how to. I strongly recommend using multiMAN to do it as it will only flash the eid section which is the safest method.

also... i had to do mkdir to have "home/user"

i did it by doing "mkdir home" then "cd home" then "mkdir user"
("user" is my user name)

and it tells me "too many levels of symbolic links"
:0

no matter if i change directories to home/user and try to copy from there, or if i am in /tmp/petitboot/mnt/sda1/metldrpwn... i cant copy the file to the hdd no matter what i try to do.

but i didnt think you had to copy it to the hdd... can you not just "make" and "run.sh" from the usb device?

i admit it, i am not a linux guru, i have been trying now for 3 days to get this going. i have an e3 flasher and have downgrade many ps3's, but i just cant wrap my head around linux.. it will take a while to learn. tho the more i use it the more i understand it. i can navigate directories now :D and make directories. i just need a little help to get this going.

i have a valid dump from my e3 flasher in the metldrpwn folder, i just need to dump the root key so i can run it through the converter program
i think you are following my old guide lol..

and with copy i meant insert ur USB stick.. open it and copy to your user folder, it's not hard is it?

im tired of trying.

every guide i have used has failed. maybe it is me, but i can read and follow instruction great. there is 138 pages in this topic. maybe it would be a good idea to find 1 (one) only 1 guide that works and share it.

I finished my NAND PS3 CEX-TO-DEX guide and is ready to post on another tab.

At this moment I am just waiting for the package with everything needed to be uploaded to my personal server. The package includes:

EDIT: My max upload speed is very slow, so it will take a couple of hours to finish uploading, just to let everyone know, go watch some movies or something LOL xD.

- OtherOS++ CFW 3.55 (SS Patches)(1/2 HDD)
- Petitboot PKG / BIN files
- Red Ribbon RC5 Live
- CEX2DEX (by Gunner54)
- Factory Service Mode Tool v2
- Jaicrab Preloader Advance v3.1
- DEX OFW 4.11

RAR package size is ~870MB, but its worth it if you don't want to be looking for individual files.

Everything has been structured into directories named as: STEP_1, STEP_2, etc...for easy handling of files depending on the Guide step you are located in.

When it finish uploading I will post the guide and let everyone know here, so stay tuned!

SeeYa!
