From Step 1,How do I get my 4.21 OFW CEX to a DEX console?

Before even attempting to do the cex2dex conversion you would need to downgrade your console to 3.55 using equipment that must be purchased and installed............this is assuming your console is even capable of downgrading to that firmware. If not, your SOL.

No, downgrade with a flasher. Then dump nor(has to be nor). Metldrpwn to get eid_root_key.bin and run in my tool. I say it has to be nor because that's all my program supports atm. Then flash the dexflash and update to DEX.

So just to be clear, even if you're already on 3.55 CFW, you'd still need a flasher to flash the dexflash back onto the PS3?

No, if you are on 3.55CFW you don't need a hardware flasher to flash the NOR.

no you dont have to have one but i think it is advised if something goes wrong then you will be able to recover from it.

Oh, thanks. So just in case something goes wrong, if I made a proper backup I can undo all damage by buying a flasher?
