Help please

hi i am following your guide and have come to a problem at stage 3, i copy the files "advance.cfg" and "lv2diag.self" to the root of my memory stick then insert it into the usb port furthest to the right. when i turn on the ps3 the screen is black and the usb light is blinking as if a file is being written to it for about 1-2 minuets then the ps3 turns off, i insert the usb stick back into the computer but there is no backuprflash.bin ive done everything correct so far manged to get into service mode and such but now i dont know what the problem is. would it be possible to use "dump_flash.pkg" found on ps3devwiki?

@rebellionist

The files are hidden. You need to enable "show hidden files and folders" to show them.

ok i found the issue, the files are indeed hidden but it wont let me see them on the laptop (dont have a clue why, i enabled the settings and shows other hidden files) so what i did is i took the memory stick into my other cfw 3.55 ps3 and first used "comgenie's Awesome file Manager" to check if the files are indeed there as this would definitely show all hidden files which they were. i then ftp them from the ps3 to the computer

tweet from neahrwert maybe this makes things easier...
https://twitter.com/naehrwert

isn't installing linux to get your eid root key a bit of an overkill when you could just use netrpc?!
and this

Or you could compile this http://pastie.org/4295312 , sign it with metldr keys and grab the key/iv from shared LS...

Thank you for the tutorial. i followed your tutorial and i can confirm that it works.
i converted my ps3 to dex and installed 3.55 DEX MFW with peek and poke, and i can also confirm that my backups work fine.

so far i think its better than kemew and rebug, i'll stick to it.

by the way make sure to install multiman 4.01.00 that works fine.
the latest version hangs after the three page agreement.

best regards,,,
