Question Read hex data from 21mm-22mm zone of PS3 gaming BD disc

Hi Friends,

Hope, you will help me for a very simple problem. I want to read the key present in data zone 21mm-22mm and I already have Linux OS on my console. Now I need how to read that section and get the output in hexadecimal format. Also, if required I can convert the PS3 model to DEX mode.

Desc:
I want to read the data from inner data zone (21mm - 22mm) of a PS3 gaming Blu-Ray disc. Can anyone suggest how to get the output in hexadecimal format after reading the data only from this particular section 21mm-22mm.

FYI : Inner data zone - 24 mm & Outer data zone - 58mm for a BD disc.

Thanks in Advance ,

Let me know in case you need more info regd the problem.

Is there anything special in that zone? Is this a hint or a real question?

Thanks for your reply,
No I want to read only that particular section. Also, if you know how to read any section of a PS3 gaming BD disc, let me know, so that using the same method I will read the section I am concerned with(21-22mm).
One of my friends told me that the encryption key is present in that section, so I am interested in that section.

HI JonahUK,

Any idea you have how to read all the data from the PS3 gaming Blu-Ray disc and get the output in Hexadecimal Codes. I have PS3(3.55 Frmw) with Ubuntu OS. Or Can you tell me how to get the key from the Blu-Ray gaming disc.

Thanks a Lot in Advance,

As far as I am aware, this info is pressed at the disc factory.

There is no other way that I know of to get at it.

Thanks for quick reply.
I want to make a copy of my original PS3 gaming BR disc, so that my friend can take it and play in his PS3. The problem is that he is not ready to disturb his PS3 OFW and change it to CFW. So, could you tell me or point me to some useful link where I can find to make a copy of Blu-Ray gaming disc, which the other person can take and play in his PS3 without disturbing its firmware.
**Both the PS3s mine and my friend's are having same 3.55 Firmware.

Thanks,

You can't.

May I ask why he is still on 3.55 OFW? There is no valid reason to be on OFW that low.
You can't access PSN or play games above that firmware so he may as well go CFW.

Thanks,
I also told him to apply the CFW, but he is afraid of applying it thinking that the CFW upgrade will corrupt his ps3.
