Ok, I've went throught the whole procedure, and everithing went OK. The problem now is that I can't seem to be able to install DEX 4.11. Is it possible that something failed? I'm still on 3.55 and I can see *Install Packeges/*Apphome, but can't install DEX...
In Recovery Menu it says: No software found (or something like this). And If I try through the XMB it gives me Error 80029CCA (data corrupted).
How will I understand, that I'm CEX or DEX ? I can't see any new menus... Sorry for the n00b questions, but I've been through the whole tut with no problem, and now... :D Kinda funny...

I could try to install normal CEX 3.55 ROGERO CFW, but I'm not sure, that it is safe, just for testing. Any help would be nice

Not sure but start over. make sure you have a valid flash etc.

Sorry guys that I haven't been around answering some question regarding my tutorial, and thanks to those who are helping others

I been busy working all day, but I will try to be around soon and help in any way I can.

PS: I just bought another CECHE01, it will arrive in a few days, apparently the BD-Drive is damaged, but I will replace it with the one from my bricked PS3. Hopefully if everything goes fine and if the FW is 3.55 or below, I will be back in action with more DEX research , right now it is unknown what FW it have, but probabilities are kinda 50/50 since the person who had it, told me that is been more than 1 year since she used it xD (fingers crossed LOL)

BTW, as an off-topic note regarding DEX FW (before I forget), have someone tried pressing while having an original PS3 game on the drive? there is a option with a 'star' called "Check", it will give a lot of information about the game files, including their FW version, SDK version and apparently there is a decryption process done while checking .sprx / EBOOT.BIN files. It will create some log files on your USB Storage Device if you have it plugged in. This might help people with more knowledge get somewhere regarding the decryption of games (maybe TB does something like this to get the decrypted game files, idk).

To see the what I mean, you must be using DEX 4.11 for example and try putting a 3.55+ original game on the drive, then do the Check from XMB.

hi, trying to get back to CEX i loaded trought multiman the orignal dump he perfomed in the first place, in the reboot sequence to install the CEX firmware the ps3 wont boot anymore, alot of beeps and turn off automaticly, any help?

got a dump from multiman and from memdump, E3 Flasher is the solution?

sounds like a brick.. NAND or NOR? cause E3 is only useful for NOR Chips. (or you are an expert in soldering :-) look for progskeet..

dont flash back with multiman when you dont have the very last version of it which should be fixed in NAND-handling... i found these:

multiMAN_ver_04.04.03_BASE_(20120722).pkg
multiMAN_ver_04.04.03_BASE_DEX_(20120722).pkg

search the brewology site for it.. and on XXXcrunch you find them to i think..


try all dongles you have.. also the rsod-thing.. good luck!

its a nor, what you mean by try all the dongles, already tried E3 card with service mode and no go.

if a turn of power the console simply turns, and power off, after that the console will power on, beep like and ambulance and then power off, if i have some USB Pen in the console during the power on -> power off the pen blinks but doesnt do **** :D

If I understood your post, you don't seem to update the firmware via "Install Packages" . You will need to use the PS3 Service Mode (The one that requires you to hold the power button until it beeps three times.)

Haha, yes, that was also exactly what I did wrong! (Although it did screw up on the metldr dump as well. Fortunately the CEX>DEX application can easily tell you botched it up by showing the root keys.)

I was able now change to 3.55 DEX with peek and poke with the guide by Captain. Thank you very much for the tutorial!

not beeing funny but if your ps3 is a nor then why u followin nand guide and also u posted your problem in the wrong thread , post it in the nor dex thread

Yet I finally decided to flash dex nand backup to my CECHA, and it worked. Gonna test things on 4.11 dex tomorrow. Thank for guide Captain.
