Oh and of course core dumps should be enabled in the debug settings and in TM.

I would test it myself but i did not convert yet. I just read some articles on dev wiki and i wanted to share.
Also if you successfully get a whole core cump (i think it must be turned on in TM options) you will get an ELF core dump file.
There is a pdf file in the SDK explaining how it looks. But i guess it is copyrighted so anyone who wants to read it should get a license or something

if you are able to use target manager, set the preferences to "full memory dump file" instead of "minimum memory dump file". Also the filename i see in your screenshot indicates the dump was not finished successfully because of the .tmp filename. it should be .elf

im not using target manager (dont have access to it), im setting Core Dump feature to dump to dev/hd0 - then copying over to usb pen via multiman.

yep your right though, Im having problems getting a full dump, cos the PS3 turns off

Obviously we don't have a foot switch, but what if we abuse target manager with that 'check' function?
I'm just a quiet follower on this CEX2DEX thing but this post made me wonder if this is working or is even needed:

There are some Restrictions in "Release Mode"

maybe you can change the mode
[Settings] -> [Debug Settings] ->
[Release Check Mode] (i don't have a dex so i dont know)

maybe it is something else. good luck

If you need it, you will find the target manager inside the 4.00 sdk that has been leaked some time ago.
It shouldn't be too hard to find, just google it.
