Hello ryant001 and DEFAULTDNB.

I have also backup all NAND, eid0 and meltdr dumps in a save location.

Currently I am trying to figure out a way to switch from DEX to CEX easily and vice versa. I have been reading through the NOR guide. Where latest mmCM allows you switch from DEX to CEX or CEX to DEX. I think the switching only works for NOR. I could be wrong.

I have few questions since there is Special PUP's for DEX conversion users released:

1. With "PS3 DEX to CEX Switcher PUP", I could installed Rebug 3.55.2 and play all backup games below 3.55 + reactpsn + ps3usercheat? Play blu-ray?
2. With "PS3 CEX to DEX Switcher PUP", I could install OFW 4.11 or 4.20 DEX and play 3.56+ backups via bdemu on USB HDD? Play all retail original disc game?

Am I correct with this steps below?

Example : So If I want to go from OFW 4.11 DEX or 4.20 DEX to Rebug 3.55.2 CEX

1. Install Rogero 3.55 DEX with Peek & Poke [downgrader built-in]?
2. Install PS3 DEX to CEX Switcher PUP?
3. Install Rebug 3.55.2 CEX?

Example : So If I want to go from Rebug 3.55.2 CEX to OFW 4.11 DEX or 4.20 DEX

1. Install PS3 CEX to DEX Switcher PUP ?
2. Install Rogero 3.55 DEX with Peek & Poke [downgrader built-in]?
3. Install OFW 4.11 or 4.20 DEX?

Your thoughts and advice. Is this switching method superior to mmCM Flashing method?

Hi i appreciate all the efforts done by ps3hax team regarding the DEX topic, but now since everything is clear could someone post a complete step by step guide that covers everything regarding this topic with all the required tools in each step.

This switching method should be safer than using mmCM since those pup's don't flash the nor/nand but there aren't been any reports from people that used them so you should have a hardware flasher ready just in case.
You didn't say if you have already converted your console but just to be on the safe side i will warn you that those pup's only work on a console that has already been converted to dex.

1.That's right but let me say that you can play the old 3.55 backups even on 3.55 dex, no reactpsn,ps3usercheat or blu-ray though (there is a blu-ray fix but it didn't work for some people and now switching is just faster)

Those steps should be right but i will say it again: nobody reported about using those switching pup's so you have to be careful if you want to use them.

There are already lots of nice step by step tutorials around, you just need to search a little.
The tutorial that @deank wrote on another forum is especially noob-proof and easy to follow and it even provides all the tools you will need.

Thanks for your reply. I have converted my NAND PS3 using CaptainCPS-X's guide.

I have been reading post from other forums and some folks can't get this switching pups working.

Still looking for a best way to switch from DEX to CEX back and forth safely.

I just checked those other forums and yes, there's no risk of brick but it seems this switching method doesn't work all that well.

as stated many many many many times you need to be on 3.55 initially
