Hello GraVoX959,

Thanks for your reply. I think I have over looked your initial steps.

In step 7 and 8, I have to use MM to get a Dump to my USB and I am supposed to rename that file to 355CEX.NORBIN.

Now that I am in DEX, how am I supposed to get a 355CEX dump. I do have "backrflash .bin" from preloader advance 3.1

When I try to rename the bins and use C2D.exe, I get some kind of mismatch error.

Thanks for the tutorial!

But i don't get this:

19) Open your “dump_eid0.bin” in a hexeditor of you choosing (I used HXD) and extract your keys - keys are either at start of the file (0x00 - 0x2f) or somewhere else. You can find the right location by searching the dump. You can search for bytes 0x00-0x10 and you may find the proper erk/iv at 0xc0*** location

Can someone explain this step some more easier?

Start the HxD program that you should have earlier downloaded from the net, open the folder that has the dump_eid0.bin(aka dump) you obtained from metldrpwn and drag this file onto the HxD window. Copy the top 3 lines of bytes that you see(address 0x00 - 0x2f). Click File then New at the HxD top bar. On your new, blank HxD page paste that ish and save this file as whatever the tutorial says its name should be, keys.bin etc.

So, here you need the first 3 lines?

Edit: got a file, don't know if it's correct.

But in mmCM it says:
Current ID: 0x85
New ID: 0x82
Ok?

Ok?
ID 0x85 means "Retail European PS3", 0x82 means DEX, so yes, it is OK.

Tnx Deank!

How does the Rogero: 3.55 DEX FW With Peek & Poke works? How can you switch from this one to 4.20 dex?

Got some problems:
- I can't start PS3 from PSbutton? It's all time searching and searching.
- PS3 media server is not working

Maybe someone knows the problem?

goto settings - debug network (or how it's called) and turn on the media option.. (at least I have to do that everytime with Rebug, also after I started another application/game)

sucessfully converted my nor to dex using gravox tutorial
the key part is install linux which took me about 3-5hrs!!!
since im no linux guy not to mention i only had 1 monitor i had to switch back in forth coz i was reading the tutorial (i had hdmi switcher)

followed everything up to the point where i got my eid0.bin dump
i was stuck trying to extract the keys since i didn't know how to work with hex editing..

i use this instead of c2d.exe

just rename cex355.norbin to something like cex355.bin
and eid0.dump.bin to something like dump (no extension)

click cextodex it generated 3.55DEX.NORBIN
then then just flashed it to mm
thats it, and installed dex firmware done

thanks!!
