learn about what a scene should be and you will see "free" means a totally different thing to money

you "free" things by removing restrictions, not by adding them like in the form of DRM

im not in this scene to get warez/leech everything. im in it because i like to see devices i own being de-restricted and more abilities/functions opened up

i have no use for DRM dongles and all my games work just fine without them thanks

i will never condone these devices that add drm on top of someone elses code. its insulting to the concept of a "scene", even a warez scene

if you go to 3.55 dex, there's nothing it offers that 3.55 cex doesn't other than some neat debug options and the ability to downgrade or upgrade (to dex) at will. you can go to 4.11 to play 3.60+ games but in order to play from external the drive needs to be formatted by the ps3 into 4 separate partitions with 1 game each. does this go for internal as well? and we can go to 4.20 dex but we're still in the same boat as 4.11 because of the lack of peek and poke to run backup managers. is this all correct so far? if it is, i'll probably wait until dex has a little something more to offer before I risk a brick

E3 are not generous hackers. They are not part of any scene.

They are a business. If you want scene, don't read E3 news, they have nothing to do with any scene.

They get up in the morning and go to work.. hacking the PS3.

Like all other people with a job, they need to get paid, so they can rent an apartment, buy food, send kids to school etc.

Get this notion of free out of your heads. E3 are not a scene group. Any scene rules do not apply to them. They are a business and if they don't make money they disappear.

The free eboots are like free samples of food in supermarkets.. a marketing tool, nothing more and nothing less.

Why do people have so much trouble coming to terms with this?
