At step 8, substep 21 you must execute these commands to get dump eid0 cd metldrpwn sudo chmod +x ./run.sh sudo insmod ./metldrpwn.ko sudo sh ./run.sh Please correct tutorial. btw wery nice guide. Thank you ! (or is it just me who cannot get eid0 to dump without loading "insmod ./metldrpwn.ko" )

Ok, after successfully converting to DEX I managed to play 2 games with the BDemulator(Dirt3 and NHL12).
I then tried to burn Dirt3 and play from BD-RE. the game wasn´t showing up though so I thought I would change some settings. Bad move.  I changed boot mode to Debug and now I´m stuck in Debug mode. I can still access the recovery menu. I´ve tried restoring default settings and even reinstalled 4.1 DEX but still stuck in Debug mode. Anybody have any ideas? do you think if I downgraded to 3.55 Dex it would get me out?

wtf... i also bricked my good old CECHC04...
have leaved the FSM on Step12... the log was written to USB and then... red light blinking.. 3 beeps.. and of... turned on... and got YLOD.. i think leaving the fsm is not the deal here... flashing the dex fw with the fsm should work.. tried all i know to recover.. no way.. sending my PS3 to a Flasher tomorrow.. with my 2 Flash-Backups... hope he can fix it... so kids... dont try this at home

Congrats on your DEX conversion. You mention that you had to use Dean's tutorial. I am trying to figure out a safe switching method for NAND Folks, DEX2CEX and CEX2DEX. Now that I am on NAND Dex, I am looking for a way to use MM to dump 3.55CEX dump. You can't use the dumps "backuprflash.bin" from preloader loader advance. c2d.exe can't accept them. I think c2d.exe only reads dumps generated from latest MM. Now that I am in DEX, I wonder how MM would generated CEX dump. I don't want to go Factory Service Mode again. Please share your ideas and methods. Thank you. |
