Successful DEX converts ending up with brick later?

I know someone who claims they were on DEX and after enjoying it for awhile their ps3 didnt want to turn on. Then I read this post by josvadolla http://www.ps3hax.net/showthread.php?t=40260&page=2

I just want to know if anyone knows of any other similar cases thats all. Im about to flash my slim in linux following hewman's CEX to DEX for NOR tut and these 2 incidents, if true, would be a bit unsettling.

Apologies if something similar has been covered before. Been quite busy and feel like I havnt slept in a hundred years

There have been many reports of people bricking their DEX consoles after conversion. Some are due to trying to go back to CFW, some are due to running tools or PKG's that mess the DEX firmware, some are due to trying to mess with inner workings.

If you convert you've been WARNED of a problems since the first supposed leak of how to convert CEX ->DEX. It's really too early to tell what will brick a DEX console and with the release of more DEX CFW it will be even harder to tell.

I've yet to read any reports of using MM DEX or switching from DEX FW to DEX FW have bricked a console, but we really do not know exactly what changes that certain apps make will screw up your console or not.

It's really too early to tell either way. I suggest just keep reading and remembering what people did before the brick and if you convert don't repeat the same mistakes. I'm sure those people who's consoles suddenly BRICKED did do something beforehand to make it brick, but probably don't recall.

I was kind of leaning towards this theory aswell. Thanks for your informative reply. You're right in stating DEX is fairly new to the public and still sort of in the trial and error stage. Im going to take extra precautions and read the success stories to learn more. Thanks guys
