From what I understand, the special pup switching is not true switching. It just replaces/swap the core os section. And also the the reason for blu-ray not to function. The ps3 is still in dex mode.

There is a multiman way to switch from CEX to DEX and DEX to CEX.
As I am already on DEX, I am not sure how switch as it requires a MM flash dump from CEX 3.55.

I hope someone in coming days could release a guide.

I understand that this new development does NOT mean we can downgrade from 4.20 without a hardware flasher.
But, is there anything here that means either a software downgrade or 4.20 CFW is a step closer now that this has been released?

Nope. Not really.

I guess with more people on 4.20 DEX there is more chance of something being found out on that higher FW that could also work on OFW.

Seriously though, I've been looking around and it seems as though Slim consoles (NOR) can't be converted to DEX yet. Can anyone confirm this?

That,s wrong. I converted to DEX my 16mb NOR launch day Slim 120gb model a few days ago.

Too bad, but ps2 games are not working on 4.20 dex. Well, it's strange 'cuz they worked on 4.11 (I have bc ps3).
