Question [POLL] NAND CEX-TO-DEX RESULTS

[POLL] NAND CEX-TO-DEX RESULTS

I open this new poll to have a better idea on my guide final results (at least with those who participate on it).

I exhort everyone who used my NAND CEX-TO-DEX guide, to participate on this poll, the guide can be located here:

[GUIDE] PS3 NAND CEX-TO-DEX
http://www.ps3hax.net/showthread.php?t=40292

Please lets keep this thread focused on the poll and results, any other thing related to the guide should be posted on its specific thread, this is to maintain a clean thread and avoid confusion.

Thanks!

UPDATE: Note that this is a "Public" poll so everyone who vote will be displayed, I understand there should be no problems since this is not a controversial or dramatic thread, so there is no need to be an anonymous poll.

SeeYa!

Actually, I made the n00b mistake of not reading the OP fully before voting... I didn't use his method to convert in the first place, I used technodon's guide, which worked perfect for me, but yes, I bricked (ylod, no recovery or FSM) writing my original CEX nor image back in linux. I'm assuming syscon got updated when I went to 4.11 DEX then downgraded back to 3.55 DEX, and this is why when I flashed the CEX nor back, it failed the syscon check and bricked. I just ordered an E3 from dealextreme ($57, shipped) and I'll find out if I can fix it when it gets here I guess.

Well, it sucks real bad to hear that you and everyone else ( @GraVoX959 , @deank et al) have bricked their PS3s.

Good luck and I hope you have it up and running once again!

Question

hi, i'm not sure if anything got to do with 'those" bricks, from flashing it.... not the cex2dex dump step, anyway, every time one does an downgrade ++3.56, u'll end up with an empty ROS0 folder, u can verify this after installing the PUP, make new dump and extract flowrebuilder, now this happens for cex2dex also, again 1 empty ros0 folder, fix it by re-installing via recovery(fsm doesn't work = again empty ros folder - firmware folders-0=old one/1=new one!), dump it again! , the folders are full as it must be!, maibe errors/brick occur from this?!

empty ros without knowing, e.g flashing back cex.bin with linux and after flashing dex u have empty ros folder, perhaps it will screw up

But when writing the NOR back using dd, it completely overwrites the flash, so all I did was restore my flash back to exactly how it was when I dumped it, before converting. This was the dump I used to generate the DEX bin, which worked perfectly fine. There's only two reasons I can think of as to why this would brick me, the first is that syscon got updated when I installed 4.11 DEX (or while using the downgrade 3.55 pup), the second is the flash was corrupted somehow, either while writing it, or during transfer from my computer via USB pendrive. (although I double checked the file on the drive by comparing it with the original CEX file, and they were identical in HxD)
So it's gotta be some syscon thing. When I receive my E3 flasher I plan to flash back the DEX nor image and I should be okay.
