It would probably easier to unbrick the slim, with my e3 flasher. If I it mess up.

The 360 nand clip was a pain. LOL.

Main reasons for this is down to being able to re-flash/restore a NAND flash (old-school fat PS3s) - lack of support from the modding hardware manufacturers and the discontinuation of NAND-based PS3s on Sony's part makes matters worse in that regard.

You're more or less right (sort of), but you need to have a valid/non-corrupt flash dump if you have any chance of unbricking your non-FSM-recoverable PS3

Well yeah, of course. I have downgraded the CECHA, so obviously I have plenty of good dumps I could use to unbrick it.

I have downgraded 1 of the 2 slims I have. So got plenty of dumps on the cech-2001a, I would convert.

if you have a hardware flasher for NAND then no problem.. can try all things with the fat...

but if not dont try... chance for YLOD on the FAT-NAND is higher.. look around in the boards many bricks are FAT NAND models.. seems more then the NOR Slims...
