For me these are enought reasons to say is the worst model
From power efficiency and hardware design obviously the newer ones are much better

Reballing the CPU & GPU would definitely expand the life. If you look around you can get a cheap reball service. Just sayin

yeah mine looks ****ing awesome with its random shutdowns and occasional ylod, puts my 3k slim to shame. even sony refused to fix it anymore because its so awesome

Reball it and upgrade the psu so you don't get freeze issue's and im not sure if you can upgrade the heatsink but that's another thing you could do as well as a better fan or more fans.

Lol not really if we ever found out how cobra runs ps2 games then it equals success for all 3.55 user who want to play ps2 games. That's really the only thing different in the two.

I thought Cobra allowed PS2 playback only on models that had PS2 Backward Compatibility. Can it play PS2 backups on slims too?

Even if it does, I don't see the DRM dongles getting reversed any time soon. Only one who was making some progress was oct0Xor but haven't heard anything from him for a while

it can play a few using sonys full software emulation method that was hidden in a couple of the firmwares. Probably 99% of the games aren´t playable though.

sony had 3 goes at it and considering i dont use ps2 games, the cost/effort will be wasted
