wanna ask a super noob question...my console is ID CECH 2506A LW (SLIM) are this console able convert to DEX?

It is not about your model. It is about current firmware version.
If you are on 3.55 and below you are in luck. If not, you have to downgrade via hardware flashing before you do anything.

bro my console firmware is 3.55 rebug (lucky me!!)..so its doable right??

Great! Either search for a NOR guide in this forum or other.

1. Backup your HDD via the Backup Utility from XMB.
2. Do a 2nd Backup - Copy your "Home" folder via FTP to a save location in your PC.
3. Go back to OFW 3.55. This will rule out all unknown problems.

Quadruple check every steps. Good luck!

You are the clueless one, pal. I'm on 4.20 and I can't convert to DEX unless I downgrade to 3.55, which is only possible with a hardware flasher.

stating the ps3 scene is dead simply because "you" are unable to use something is a little clueless to be fair, its bursting with life, especially with everything thats being leaked/released

i have OFW4.21 on a 3000 model but i can still see the scene is more alive than it has been in absolutely ages

Well, you're a moderator here so you probably care about that stuff more than I do.

As I see it, the only people who are able to enjoy these new "developments" are the ones who have a 3.55 console, or in the other words the same people who could already play backups before this CEX-DEX business. Except now they are able to play backups of newer games.

That's my opinion as someone who only bothers to check this site once in a few months. So yeah, maybe I'm clueless in that regard, but the way that guy said it it was as if you could run backups on 4.20 without any hassle at all, which is untrue.
