You can't encrypt an EBOOT with NPDRM. Two keysets were not affected by the epic fail : the PKG and NPDRM keys. We can't calculate the private keys for this one. That's why CFW has a patch to allow installing "pseudo-retail" PKGs (it's called pseudo-retail precisely for that reason), and it is also why homebrew won't run on 3.56+ because said firmwares now check if the SELF has proper NPDRM encryption, which it didn't before.

Sure, you can make a "Debug" EBOOT loader but I doubt the PS3 will decrypt a retail EBOOT if it's launched via a debug one.

I know that it probably won't work but i wanted to test it anyway just to make sure and to study the system behavior better.

I will state this just to make things clear:

My question wasn't "Is it possible to make a custom eboot successfully load a retail one?", the thing i asked is "Is it possible to create a custom eboot from scratch whose only function is to load a retail eboot? If yes then how can i do it?"

I respect the opinion of those who said that it won't work but i just want to test things(heck i have a dex now,so why wouldn't i use it!?) and i think that those posters missed the real point of this thread.

The first full core dump taken with a debug ps3 got posted yesterday.
It is a elf 64 bit core dump file.
I found two papers about binary recontruction from core dumps. One is rather old [1] and one can be found in the phrack magazine [2]

[1] http://www.ouah.org/core-reconstruction.txt
[2] http://www.phrack.org/issues.html?is...id=12&mode=txt

At least if certain configuration are set on the target system ( i don't know if it's possible on a ps3 debug unit) you can reconstruct a binary from a core dump. Could be worth researching, but i remember a post from math from the year 2010 saying otherwise.

Good luck anyone
