weird, i have patched a 355 like that and those tools worked without repacking etc..
dump_flash/boot_otheros etc all worked out of the box and booted straight into petitboot after running "boot_otheros.pkg |

@bennyoo0
hi mate, i just tested/finished(damn...taking up much time) the manual ubuntu install again, all working as per normal on cex355, i had a mount error while loading ubuntu though..ejected the red ribbon disc and let ubuntu scan for errors, ubuntu rebooted back into petitboot and after that linux is alive again ![]() first i tested red ribbon, the live disc worked fine, anyway it frose..didn't do sh*t at the install screen/OtherOS HDD partition found, use it? press OK - cancel, didn't waste my time more on it... and used the "ubuntu" install http://pastebin.com/PWTGRhi2 and about not installing all packages(retail?) i haven't tested much, my guess is, change the nas_plugin.tlc with the one from the "nonretail" folder, u can found in the task folder, that must be same patch used in Itskamel/Exeedy's pup?! the only problem seems one patch? gives an error if one reboots into GameOS from petitboot, not shutdown correctly, no real harm done but it shouldn't be there, this happens btw also on CEX and an otheros patched pup(also one from gitbrew+sspatches), but i'm not sure wich patch cause this "incorrect shutdown" message while loading into GameOSanyway, it should work fine, atleasy ubuntu did ![]() have pfun

, sure wil do that, must say i haven't seen this problem in recovery, after installing the pup, either via recovery/xmb, restore ps3 via recovery to get the OtherOS space worked fine, second time i tested this, so if u wanna switch back to dex355 it should work fine man
then quik format/restore ps3 via xmb and u have full hdd space back, well not really cuse if one install's another Otheros pup later on, they(previous installed linux) simpy popup again in petitboot, fully delete/format it on the PCi'll let u know how it goes when re-installing pups, need to take a nap now, must work tomorrow, its been some time but i need to get of my lazy ass

Thanks haz, building your own mfw with euss was the solution. My previous red ribbon installion(cex>dex) booted right up after loading petitboot. Teach a man to fish, and feed him for a lifetime.
