If ya don't understand the terms used, why proceed with CEX2DEX?

Know what you're getting into before jumping off in something.

Take a look at this thread:

if you understand this and manage to get your PS3 breaked (dont know if your PS3 is already breaked) then.. maybe you could think of the cex2dex thing...

tried everything and anything. still can't make this **** work. moved the dump.eid0.bin in metldrpwn folder, and now when tryin to instal red ribbon it says dev/sdb must have partitions for gnu/linux ps3. you must create them to proceed: automatic partitionig manual partitioning. whichever i choose gets me back to the same stupid question dev/sdb must have partitions bla bla bla. what to do.
installed asbestos and when running it it just gives me a black screen. do i have to copy the files on the usb? and if so where>

The device is usually /dev/sda, /dev/sdb or so. A device name refers to the entire disk. The old systems without libata (a library used inside the Linux kernel to support ATA host controllers and devices) make a difference between IDE and SCSI disks. In such a case the device name will be /dev/hd* (IDE) or /dev/sd* (SCSI).
You are doing something wrong with the partitions, question is what GUIDE you are using?
