So now when when we can run backups requiring newer firmares, how about PS2 PSN games. Earlier we could not run them because they required 3.7+ firmaware.

Is it possible to run them now with newer DEX? I mean those PS2 games that were re-released on PSN for all PS3 models.

if you mean the ps2 games that were remastered for ps3 like ratchet and clank or jak and daxter then yes.

for actual ps2 game discs or ps2 games, no.

im thinking we might need some exploits like the duplex psn games, because we wont be able to download them directly from psn, and my guess is sony would have done some sort of encryption on em

Anyone have a game install pkg and an edat for one of the PS2 titles? If so it should be able to activate running CFW then you could flash you DEX flash and update and give it a shot. I myself dont have the files so can't test it out.

I don't know about aforementioned games, but just to clear it up, I didn't mean "HD" ps2 remakes like Ico or SotC, but PS2 games on PSN for any model of PS3, support of which came in 3.7 firmware (software emulator). Those that look exactly like on PS2. I'm especially interested in Siren 1 that was released on Japanese PSN few days ago.
