I have a PS3 Phat that has YLOD atm (Two of the Capasiters kinda came off during shipping last time I shipped it.) Do you think you can resolder the currently almost broken off capasiter and Downgrade it to 1.00 OFW (As low as it goes according to minvrsCheck)

1.02 was the first firmware public on the ps3 i don't think there is a 1.00 ofw even avaible

You can get it on psdev wiki :D My PS3 Phat is Launch model so it can go all the way down.

Oh lol i thought all of em were launched with 1.02 thought i saw that on the wiki but apparently i'm wrong lol. I remember waiting in line for 3days to get the launch ps3. It ended up getting to overheated and i traded up for a slim should have just fixed it but oh well only spent $700. Also my brother got the same one the same day and time and his is still fine

Yea that sucks. duing constant all nighters and leaving it on all day/night takes a toll on the phats. I'm not sure what FW mine was on I just remember a **** ton of Updates. lol.

Very very true mine started by freezing and overheating and eventualy it took a toll and died on me for playing on it all day and night;(

Well if it was freezing you should've Done the options in the recovery to fix it a bit. It could have live alot longer, Also removing the shell and putting a fan directly on the PS3 Cools it down and saves it a bit from YLOD
