Got my unbricked PS3 back today :-)
(bricked on the cex2dex way with YLOD, dont know why exactly cause i did nothing wrong... but thats another case.....) The PS3 boots up in XMB, with Rogero v1 i think... wanna check a few things before flashing my own MFW 3.55... - Inserted a BD-Movie / it shows up but didnt play... well known error 800299D2 comes up (first hmmm.....) - Hdd-Games could not read their savegames (No Problem.. there are fixes out for this... second hmmmmmmmmm)... - Multiman starts... but no BDEmu anymore there... wtf. (no more hmmms) and the file is there as it was... checked... - started the sysinfo Tool... wow... ![]() i got a DEX-Modell which runs a CEX-Firmware.. In the Firmware are no Debug-Menüs in XMB it behaves like any other normal CFW.. but without Blueray and the other things you have to get around with when you running DEX-Fw... But there is no DEX-Fw on it... normally it have to YLOD or the syscon have to freak out... Cause of the NAND and the high risk of bricking when i use recovery menu or FSM ... maybe here is someone who can explain and know a way out without bricking my good old CECHC04 FAT :-) i hope so..... i stay on DEX if i have to... wanna go back to CEX for BD-Movie playback..but also i know the high risk for bricking in the way back... See my screenshot for the version.. and the running FW is Rogero 3.55 (v1 i think..) normal without ANY Debugging things.. QA-Flags are away i think.. noting happens when using the pad-pushing thing...

This is because, when you go CEX->DEX you change your Target ID to 82 (which is DEX ID). So now your PS3 is a normal CEX, but its Target ID is DEX.
I remeber clearly that when I converted my PS3 to DEX I've changed my Target ID to 82. Other ID's are for different regions (Europe, Asia, US etc.). Don't know how you could change it now, without attempting another CEX2DEX conversion... From Deank's tut: Code:
27. On your PC use "c2d.exe" to convert your CEX NOR/NAND dump to DEX (use command prompt) (you may have to install openssl from c2d folder):
c2d.exe dump_eid0.bin my-original-cex.NORBIN my-DEX-flash.EID0.NORBIN 82
or
c2d.exe dump_eid0.bin my-original-cex.NANDBIN my-DEX-flash.EID0.NANDBIN 82

i didnt have used c2d for conversation.. i have used the tool from gunner54 to convert the flash files... but my PS3 is unbricked with progskeet and completly flashed over... i dont understand why my patched dex-things already there? i will not flash back any patched cex-fw until i have a proofed way.... maybe possible to flash DEX-Fw 3.55 now??? hmm.. if i try and brick... i want to... only for the investigation of the debug fw...

You should be able to install 3.55 dex from the xmb. |
