Hello,
I was on a quest to to restore my HDD and here is a my backstory. Code:

You require these these Special PUPs - PS3 DEX to CEX Switcher PUPs It can be downloaded here. Code:
http://www.ps3scenefiles.com/Downloads/PS3FirmwareDebugCustom/PSN-DEX-TO-CEX-PUPS.rar Step 2. Now Perform a system update using the "DEX to Retail" PUP. [Using XMB] Step 3. After update, PS3 will reboot and you will notice that the debug setting is gone. Step 4. Now you can restore your Backup HDD using your Backup Utility Step 5. When you reach 100%, PS3 will give you an error. (It gave me and not sure why) Just ignore. PS3 will restart. Shutdown PS3. Step 6. Go to Recovery Mode and perform "Rebuild Database". Step 7. After "Rebuild Database" and reboot, perform a system update using the "Retail to DEX" PUP. [Using XMB] Step 8. After update, PS3 will reboot and you will notice that the debug setting is back. Step 9. Now Perform a system update using the Rogero 3.55 DEX CFW V2. [I used ProDG] Step 10. Now you are back in CFW DEX with the most of restored data. What are the stuff I got from the backup? 1. My multiple user accounts got restored. 2. My Saves got restored 3. Game backups from "GAMES" folder got restored What I did not got from the backup? 1. PSN Games / Homebrew apps was not restored (Did not have much before conversion. Simple reinstallation would solve it) Thank you. |
