I wonder how many profiles here are fake ones made by dongle makers who post just to support them. So far I have read nothing in argument for the dongles that makes sense. It's hypocritical to flame somebody for wanting to play games for free when you're supporting playing 100+ games for $59.99 or whatever. Might as well be free. Especially when game developers will never see a dime of that. I don't have any problems with dongle owners of the past. But given what we know now, I think it would be disgusting to continue to support them. Regardless, it's going to be a release war. I don't see either side backing down. And since it involves money I don't see any compromise either. The only honorable thing for devs to do at this point is to save face and continue to release.

Really, I find it hilarious that people who buy these dongles think they have a right to pirate the games, yet when we say we want better homebrew and the ability to play our legally bought games, they call us cheap!!
These people are completely blinded by their greed to pirate games they'll say anything to anyone who upsets them. Nothing you say makes sense, how can you call us cheap for wanting better hombrew whilst it's clear all you want to do is pirate games?! It's clear spoiled brats like you cannot see beyond your sticky, grime covered controllers to understand what you are doing or even saying.

Whatever the ****ing truth is, I don't care. I'll react to the things that might be intertwened to it, when they pop up, instead of considering conspiracy theories and ulterior motives behind people.
For whatever its worth, if my roommate had not been home all day, i would probably have gone PG18+ to celebrate this. Its ****ing big

he and others including me do not care for pirating ps3 games but i would like to be able to use showtime and play my newest games, sometimes with mods whats so hard to understand about the situation? some of us just like the option to have things available like homebrew and linux, thats the beauty of hacking your products, to remove restrictions and extend its functionality

I wasnt suggesting he bought it for pirating games..just ..the PS3 is a console and as such you buy it to play games,or at least that's what common sense suggests.
Now am I pirate if I want my PS3 to play as much games as possible? |

Sony went back on this, removing many features. Only homebrew can bring about the true potential of the console. Unfortunately greedy buggers like yourself make some devs think "Why should we spend our free time giving them our releases for free, only to have another team steal our work and then charge for it; and these people are happy enough to pay them!?! They even lash out at us when we say those people stole our work!" Hence people like you have ruined the scene. That is the truth. So why did you buy a PS3 is it only have 256MB of RAM, why not buy/stick with the Xbox 360 which has more RAM? Again your comments are very ignorant and silly. Looks like you have no commonsense, the PS3 was not so be solely a gaming console! It was supposed to be and do a lot more! Why else did it support linux via otheros?! Sony removed all of these, and so now hacking the console is the only way to get it back. Sony even argues that with EU tax departments, as console have higher tax rates, with linux they claimed it was a PC and hence got the lower PC tax rates.

Exactly. After I hacked my Wii, I went out of my way to make sure every possible function was unlocked on it. I don't even use it to play DVD's but I wanted it to be able to anyways. If it's capable, why not? It's almost like a certain rush to be able to do these things. I can't wait to partition my internal tonight so I can have Petitboot from coldboot and OtherOS. The fact is, a dongle doesn't do anything special EXCEPT enable piracy. At least people on CFW can still hold a claim to wanting homebrew. It seems that all the arguments against dongles hold a lot more weight than these hypocritical arguments for them.
