Come on man. Your making it harder than it is. You should of read the guide through a few times, before starting. Then read and follow the steps carefully.

Copy this to your CEX2DEX folder and rename it to dump (no file extension) and put it in the metldr dump row. (Notice your flash*.bin should also be loaded)

When I read that, I see that I need to take the file and drag n drop it in the CEX2DEX folder. Then right click, select rename, and rename to dump (no .bin after it)

sorry man, i was saying the file in my cex2dex is called "dump" so no file extension is on it but it still calls it a .bin

If it still says .bin, then you didn't rename it correctly.

1. Right click on dump.bin
2. Left click on rename
3. Highlight .bin and hit backspace
4. Hit Enter

Now a screen will pop up asking if you want to change the file extention, blah, blah, blah.
Say yes and continue with the guide.

you can see it says "dump"

EDIT figured it out and for anyone else

go to your "folder options"
and make sure to un check hide extensions for known file types

the dump in your pic have a video extencion, to make visible go to control panel=>personalization=>folder option=>exibition mode tab=>an unmark box: hide extencions. now you can see the extencion, rename to dump only! delete``.anything´´after the name.

Ok, so you did it.

Did you put it in the metldr dump row. And have your flash_stor_35500.bin in the NAND/NOR Flash Dump row?

Did you validate your backup?

Edit - After looking at your pic again, it still says it is a bin file. It should say it is a file like in my pic.

yep it said file, i forgot to take another pic, and i took two and hex edited them and made sure they matched like you would on a xbox 360, and it wrote successful and am downloading itskamels 3.55 dex firmware

I follow all tutorial in to the end and get my flash_stor_35500.bin and DEXFlash.bin ok.
md5 Hash (flash_stor_35500.bin and DEXFlash.bin) match ok. In final step in multman after that 3 questions my DEXflash is inserted with success and close MM, but after reboot the PS3 manually and go to xmb=>update. the system recognizes 4.20 OFW DEX try too OFW 4.11 DEX but install gave me a error and not install. so to try again i go to 3.55 KMW,back to MFW 3.41 and repeat all the process with success,but again not install DEX FW.
thx in advance who can help.

EDIT.: well, i do all over again but this time i install Itskamel´s 3.55DEX,and worked, may be its not able to go 4.11 or other directly from 3.41 after this process. is it this.
