How to fake "fake save data owner"?

Does anybody know what file the ps3 looks in when you turn on fake save data owner?
I would like to change it so that instead of writing "FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF"
in the param.sfo it will write my real psn id#

There is a way to do it. You would have to edit the xRegistry.sys file and replace the user account id to your desired psn id.

Thanks for your reply but that won't work.

For example: say my psn id is q14fd5v3jj9lihui well every time I save a game this will be written into the param.sfo

When I turn on fake save data owner the ps3 stops looking at xRegistry.sys
for my real psn id.

It instead uses the generic psn id FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF and this will be written into every save I make while the feature is turned on.

An easy way to solve this would be to simply put FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF into my xRegistry.sys but I like to share save data with my OFW ps3.

I can manually fix any save data to work on any psn id, but this would make the process faster.

Now that I think about it if we could make fake save data owner write nothing into the save then it should create an un owned save file that anyone could use.

It might not be possible, I think "fake save data owner" is a Core OS function and it programmed to write FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF by default.

Although it might be a hassle, but editing the SFO in HEX editor is the safer option, I think.

I think non windows resigning app is good in opinion even xploder. If someone could write a app that does this could be great.

1. The app ask what is your PSNID? (in your case "q14fd5v3jj9lihui")
2. The app ask what is the user account number (Either 1,2,3 or 4 and so on)

After that the app just resigns the sfo with the new values.
