Hi, sorry to necro'd my old thread but after sometime of using OFW i wanted to install the dual boot soo i buy a e3 card reader for the jailbreak and i get to install rogero 3.55 cfw v3.4.

My current problem is on the 7º step of the guide that is to backup the ps3 nor to the e3 nor i keep getting this error:

Is the first time that i have an error doing some backup or restore on the e3 flasher. I just reinstalled the firmware just to check that was correctly installed and it keeps doing that.

Any clue why is keep failing to do the copy?

I backed up the CFW nor just in case and when i check it with the e3 nor dump checker i'm getting this message:

The weird part is that the console boot up to rogero cfw just fine. I'm gonna try to patch rogero and update it to kneaw 3.55 to see what happen.

Don't use e3 nor dump checker. It's crap.
You have to extract your backup with flowrebuilder. Open it in a hex editor.
Then compare to ps3devwiki validating page.

Also, don't go from Rogero to Kmeaw, without dehashing. You will brick.

It seems like ps3devwiki has been taking a long time to load, the past couple days.

But yeah, toggle qa flag on, then install ofw3.55 from recovery. Then you can install any cfw you want. Then toggle qa off and delete the app if you want.

I have the dual boot working now. What i did was:

- Installed 3.55 OFW from recovery
- Installed 3.55 kmeaw from recovery
- Copy the rom from the ps3 to the e3 rom

And keep following the tutorial after that.

Is really weird that rogero cfw didn't let me copy the rom to the e3 one and the kmeaw cfw it did.

Andddd for no reason whatsoever the CFW stop working... now it just don't boot. The OFW work great.

Can it be that the OB flash is broken or something like that? or maybe the clip or the ribbon?

Edit: I restored the last backup i made of the CFW and now is working again...

you cant share nor dumps. Part of the data is per console. Did you write over the original bios on the ps3 nor? If you solder the wire between the nor tristate and the sbe on the clip, you can try and get another bios dump. Check out playerkp420 guide to downgrading. On it he has a guide to unbricking the console, as long as you havent writen over the per console data. Good luck. Hopefully playerkp420 guide will help ya.

Power on PS3 with switches 1 and 3 up, the rest down.
Press start and make a backup.

but i get 11001000 on e3 flasher

now what i need to do please help me
i have see in some site
if in same model you can get nor dump from you friend and flash you ps3
soo i want to test it if is not i have only one way ......
buy a new ps3

You need to update the software on the e3 flasher itself. Download the Samsung update 10/28 and then update the e3. Then it won't give you the wrong ps3 error anymore, because that update lets you do as many ps3 as you want.

Put the upgrade on a tf card. Set switch 1 up the rest down then turn on the ps3. Once it's on, then set the dip switches 1and 2 down, the rest up and hit the reset button on the flasher NOT the console. It is the red button under the sata connection. Once you do that, and the blue lights start flashing, then hit start. When all the blue lights are done lighting and go back to flashing, then it is complete. Then continue with dumping bios

I just finished reading your post, DO NOT USE BIOS FROM ANOTHER CONSOLE. I promise they have per console data, that if you loose yours, it is game over for real.

Whatever you do, DON'T FLASH A BIOS FROM A DIFFERENT CONSOLE!!!!
If you do, you will have no chance to fix your brick, without a good backup of your console.

You need to get a good connection with your clip on the nor. Then make a backup of YOUR NOR FLASH!!!
