I'ma test this on DEX firmware. No, wait. Still needs FSM? I wonder if glevand's boot_ps2 works with this in 3.55?

Hmm, can't delete or overwrite files in dev_flash, even after enabling write access in MM. Don't want to brick another machine, so I'm done testing

FSM is easy enough with with the factory service mode homebrew app and a USB stick to return to normal.

Do we know what putting the PS3 into FSM actually changes about things that makes this work?

HAs anyone tied the Boot_PS2 App with this?

Yeah it's not really a big deal, just a bit of a pain to switch back and forth from FSM(not all that different from dex upgrade/downgrade)

hell yeah time to bust out all the old ps2 games (i think i use my ps2 more these days anyway so this might be what i need to get back into the ps3)

Nothing unfortunate about it, I don't remember sony allowing my bc ps3 to play ps2 backups, find your discs and enjoy.
