Entering Factory/Service Mode: 1. Install the appropriate package file for your system: FactoryServiceMode.gnpdrm.pkg for CEX and FactoryServiceMode.pkg for DEX. Leave the USB Flash Drive in the PS3. 2. Run the application and listen for a single beep and you should enter Factory/Service Mode automatically. Exiting Factory/Service Mode: 1. Rename and copy the file named Lv2diag_exit.self on the root of your USB flash drive to Lv2diag.self Note: This release simply exits FSM. Do NOT use the RSOD Lv2Diag released earlier unless you have RSOD. 2. Place the USB Flash Drive in the USB slot furthest to the right side of the PS3. 3. Restart the PS3. You should be out of Factory/Service Mode. Is it dangerous for your PS3? If you manager to brick your PlayStation 3 when entering Factory/Service Mode, you have one option unless you own a hardware flasher. You could use this "brick fix" released by Gitbrew: http://www.ps3hax.net/2011/10/releas...-55-and-lower/ If that fix does not work, you will be in a tight predicament and will need to buy a hardware flasher such as E3 Flasher. |

You can find your Dev_Flash folder via FTP. It is a very sensitive folder so take extreme caution when tampering with it's contents. Factory/Service Mode is a mode Sony uses when doing corporate-business stuff. I don't know. It's just a mode that's there. You need to enter it to play PS2 titles. |

I love how this post says "All PS3's." The compatibility is identical to Cobra, so if you have a non-bc console, you will not be getting much functionality at all.

Haven't tried this yet myself but perhaps you will need to connect it via the cord...

Do you know what the service mode changes that allows it to work with it but not from the normal running mode?
