This is cool that all PS3 models cam play PS2 games with the buggy Sony emulator. It would be great news for me if not for me having 2 PS3s one of witch is a old 60GB fully backwards with all PS2 games model. Still great news to wake up to none the less.

It down't work for me, i'm on a one of the first model of slim (2.70 min ver) running 3.55 DEX cfw
I replaced the files in dev_flash, i put ps3 in fsm and i plugged the game in The controller got deassociated (it was using the cable) and there's no way to use it, i tried with 4 (original) duealshok3\sixaxis |

great find. but this is just one feature made free from the cobra dongle. havent seen a cfw with 100% diskless support like they do. still the best dongle/cfw out and well worth the money.

Does not boot backups? Lies.
This most certainly WILL boot PS2 backups. Just do the same as the B/C units do (like mine).
Two options to boot backups: -Keep PS3 cover off, insert a legit PS2 game with a large TOC that is the same format, such as DVD5 (single layer dvd), DVD9 (dual layer DVD) or CD. Then just remove the magnet on the disc while on XMB, replace with the backup and click on the game on XMB. Bam, loads. -Disconnect the sensor on the Blu Ray drive and solder wires from the outside of the PS3 to the eject/load motor, with the other side attached to a 2 way middle off switch and a pack of AA's also attached to the switch. One way ejects discs and the other loads them. Same method as above inside XMB. My 60GB PS3 is set up like this. I can make a video if needed. VERY easy and this method will play legit PS1/2 games of ANY region and also any downloaded ISO's from ANY region on PS1/2. Good luck folks~ PM me with questions. |
