Possible Dead Ps3?

Hey well today I got putting my ps3 together and when i plugged it in i don't get a red light for stand by. I'm using all my parts from my CECH-2101a console on my CECH-2001a console besides the heatsink. Could it possibly be from the power board being a different model?

That's exactly why, the power/eject board is different between 2001 and 2101 ps3's. I only know this because i tried it. You'll need the correct board to match your motherboard.

I think they are the same, but not 100% sure. I can find out if you need though.

if your controller is still synced you should be able to start the ps3 with the controller , with or without a power/eject board.

anyway this works on the fat ps3's, i guess the slim is no different.

mate you need to find a on/off and eject board for a 120gb/250gb model. The 160gb/320gb ones do not work and just show a red light.

Check ebay. If it was the other way round I could have sent you one, I have a spare 160gb/320gb board.
