I'm sorry I just don't understand by you saying data transfer. What exactly are trying to do with data transfer? Now for the flashing back to dex, I would first try to get your ps3 QA flagged before conversion from cex to dex. Do it by doing this..

Before attempting to convert to DEX and to avoid Bricking the PS3 ,
Please reset the PS3 syscon hashes to eliminate the need of using CEX/DEX firmwares with Patched LV1 checks

To Reset the syscon and have the PS3 back to normal safer mode like any original ( non Downgraded ) PS3, here are the steps :

1- After completing the downgrade process and having Rogero CFW 3.x up and running, make sure you have the Blu-Ray drive attached or the QA Toggle package won't work.
2- Download the Rebug QA_Toggle package from here ---> http://www.ps3devwiki.com/files/flas.../toggle_qa.pkg
3- Put the "toggle_qa.pkg" on USB and Install it on the PS3.
4- Run the "Rebug Toggle QA" from XMB, the screen will go Black and you will see HDD Led activity then if all went fine you will hear one Beep and the PS3 will Restart back to XMB.
5- If you want to make sure QA flag was set, go to "Network Settings" then apply the following key combo (all at the same time):

L1 + L2 + L3 (press left stick) + R1 + R2 + dpad_down

You should see Edy Viewer, Debug Settings, and Install Package Files if done correctly.

6- Now that you have QA flag set, Turn Off your PS3 and Turn it back on.

After you QA flag your ps3. Make sure your on cfw3.55cex. Use your own flash dex bin your created back then when you first converted to dex. Use multiman v4.04.03dex to flash it on to your ps3. You have to name like this so that multiman can see it(my-DEX-flash.EID0.NORBIN). Good luck!

Sorry Danny G, I misunderstood your post. I thought you wanted to convert back to dex from cex, instead you wanted to convert to cex from dex. This is the file (flash_eEID_35500.bin) you want to flash to your ps3 to get it back to cex. You need to rename it first. Rename
flash_eEID_35500.bin to CEX.EID0.NORBIN before you flash it to ps3. You need to use multiman v4.04.03base to flash the bin. Good luck!

- use the info Tool to see what flag your PS3 have now (Debug or Consumer)

- NAND and MM for flashing back? this worked for you? i tried but nothing...

- unfortunaly no reverse tool is there atm.. and just hex-comparing is not the way it will do... cause of encryption..

-also dont forget to use a dehashed cex-fw... if not... brick..

NAND is really more sprecial than NOR-PS3

i have bricked mine in the dex2cex process.. doing the last tests.. but i know what went wrong.. flashed cex-fw which was not dehashed... very important on NANDs... but it is aleady fixed from a guy with hardware-flasher.. without noway...

the info tool.. dont find the link..

but there is another way without installing a pkg... just read this:
http://www.ps3devwiki.com/wiki/More_System_Information

if it says DEX you know for sure the flag is still there..

problems with dex...hm.. most of my "backups" on the hdd dont run, need the patched mm-version and the debug bdemu for it.. but also no BD-Movies...
and thats the point for me.. have no extra BD-Player so i go back to CEX...

for further investigations iam searching a good used slim with nor and buy a e3 solderless package.. so i can safely play with the things without bricking my good old FAT :-)
