Hi everyone,

I'm new here so please be gentle :D

I have a FAT PS3 and has a firmware off 3.66, I wanted to downgrade it to 3.55 so I have done my research on that and it can be done, the original FW was 2.45 and my PS3 is cechl04 so I know its a NOR chip, I then went and bought an E3 NOR flasher kit from china Ali Baba express (very cheap but comes with no esata station), so I am using my own docking station.

Once it arrived, I had followed a tutorial on youtube, (a very good one too and very clear) and done everything right by my eyes, put it all back together and switched it on and still works perfect, games still running good.

Then I wanted to downgrade, downloaded the OFW 3.55 from here, did the PS3/UPDATE folders in the USB, placed the pup file in the folder, then went into safe mode on the PS3, system update with the USB in and I get an error 'data is corrupted 8002f2c5'.

Now I am confused, I did everything right and its really getting to me, should it really be saying this, have I gone and done something wrong? have I installed it incorrectly??

I did it exactly how he did it, I have looked up that error code but people have it for different reason and no one had it while using the E3 flasher.

Please can anyone shed some light for me and put me in the right path, help is really appreciated.

That video is only installing the flasher. There is more to do after installing to downgrade.

Take a look at the guide below.

Just had a look at your guide, it is clear but is that for the slim PS3, I see you got switches installed, I also have them switches but I just assumed there for the slim PS3, or am I wrong?

My guide is for any downgradable nor console. Phat or slim.

By switches, do you mean the front of the e3 flasher with the 6 switches?
You obviouly need this on your flasher to do anything with it. It is the control panel.

Yep thats the one, I have that too, the guide I was following didn't mention anything about them switches, and I also have a rectangle sort of small board with 1 connector which I dont know what to do with, looks like I'm going to be strolling around this forum in how to install them switches on a fat console, thanks for your help mate, much appreciated.

I'm am confused. Did you just install the clip on the inside? If so, you need to put the faceplate with the switches and lights on the piece that fits into your hard drive bay. Then put the other end of the clip on the flasher and press down. You need the flasher to do any downgrading. The switches tells the flasher what you want to do.

That other little rectangle board, I think you are gLoomy about. Is the e3 linker. It is only used if you want to solder all the wires, instead of using the solderless clip.

If you did everything in that video, you have it all installed. Except plug that e3 sword onto the flasher. Like @Bigbones87 said.
Kinda stupid the guy in the video didn't put that on. LOL.

I've installed the clip inside the console and that also leads to the harddrive bay which e3 provided, I have done all that, just the 6 switch board with all them fancy lights on is the one I need to install now,

Thanks for letting me know aboit thr other rectangle board, I will be ignoring that onr as I dont want to be doing any soldiering.

Wow, I just watched the video from the e3-tech website and how to set it all up, I'm obviously still at an early stage, couldn't watch the video at first as I'm in the UK but a plug-in for firefox sorted that out for me, thank you guys for pointing me to the right direction, much appreciated.

But I did see him use P3GO, where can I buy that from??
Doesn't matter if it ain't a UK shop aslong as they ship overseas.
