Hi everyone,im new here and first of all i have one question before i go further into what includes customizing ps3

Today i bought a 60G ps3 with Rogero as said,this guy gave me a dongle with it aswell (ps3break.com Driver v1,0) so that i can play my old ps2 games. I thought "ok now i can play my old games,i'll buy it" When i came home and began to read here i think this is way out of my capasity,i meen i only know regular internett surfing,download music and burn cd's

This guy did not say how complicate this really is,he made it sound easy. Just do this and download that you know. What he did say was i have to change things in software everytime i want to play my old ps2 games,and when i will play ps3 games i have to go into the software again and change something...I will buy a controller cable tomorrow to power it,i only switched it on earlyer today and saw rogero on the screen,controller have to be charged first before i uses it.
Does rogero have to be updated often? can i really play my old ps2 games? Can some one fill me in and tell me the basics of my modded ps3? I dont know **** on this subject....Hope some good input on this one. Thanks.

Ok..i dont know if he have opened the consol to mood something fysically,even then it will not read ps2 games? What is the ps3 break dongle for then?

Ok so i can do that..does software require "changes" when i switch to ps2 from ps3 games and vice versa??

@NorGuy It's a jailbreak dongle for ps3 with firmware version 3.41 but it is useless now because there is a free 3.41 jailbreak solution for a long time.

If you have a 60GB PHAT PS3, put the PS2 disc in and play.

Look on the back on the PS3 for the model # eg....CECHXXX.
If it's CECHA01, you already have the ability to play PS2 games with the actual PS2 disc. No backups though. You'll need others things to achieve that.

No it doesn't require software changes. I'm not sure what that guy was even talking about. If you are on 3.55 cfw, then read that link I posted, and it will tell you all about playing ps2 on your ps3. As far as the ps3 break, it is a useless dongle nowadays.

Its a phat ps3 yes,model is :CECHL04

He probably gave it to you in case you have to enter factory service mode. But since you're on 3.55, there's a software/app route to getting there now. Still, having a dongle for that is a great fail-safe.

CECHL04 has no PS2 capability at all.
