If a game is great buy it. Support the developers you love.

In future when you cant buy those titles, or the machines dont exist anymore, then ROM downloading is a great resource.

I had a BBC micro and a C64 as a kid, to get all the games I had again on TAPE's is impossible. Thankfully I can replay chase HQ via rom

Thanks. Interesting poll... But my statements stands. Dont mistake the ps3 scene as SOLELY for pirates. Its not true. I love homebrew on my ps3 WAY more than pirated games. If I could just use showtime, retro emus and linux on my OFW 4.11 machine I would probably sell my 3.55 kmeaw and make a few bucks

Oh and a couple of other things too,

I dont care if crap devs go under, 40-50 quid for a bad game is daylight robbery regardless of the costs to the company.

For me its Quality over Quantity that matters, does anyone remember the days when a top release came maybe a couple of times a year?

This changed when companies realised the money they could make off of us geeks!

Games used to be made by lovers of games, now its like most are made by robots.

They took the p1ss and I'm glad if/when they go under!

I will still buy the good stuff, even it means only 2-3 games a year, infact that suites me just fine!

There will always be games, they might even be better when they arent made by d1cks?

(bought bames in the last 12 months that I still play FIFA 12, Skyrim, PES 2012, COD MW3. Games downloaded ?????????? cant remember they were mainly really poor lol!)

True! And I already have every 64 rom while I'm continuing to work on my collection. There's nothing like 64 games in high res played on my pc via 64 controller hooked up through usb. Majora's Mask is beautiful. Right now I'm playing Kingdom Hearts II on PCSX2. Of which I have the original copy and a backup.

Yes it does, because in normal circumstances you would only be able to try those games if you bought them, but that is something that doesn't register with a lot of 'pirates' which use this excuse.. Just pirate, but don't come with excuses to try to sweettalk the pirating, there just isn't a good excuse..

Uhm i want to be clear that i think depriving money from real artists/hardworkers is wrong but as someone mentioned it's often the rich CEO's that enjoy succes of products not the people who make them so when i buy music i look for good artist that sell directly to me (independant) artists that way i can avoid the whole RIAA and MPAA with there ****ed up paid for laws like SOPA and PIPA and ACTA and the newest called CISPA, i'm a big freedom lover and i love to help people, but these anti share laws forces people to stay selfish i really don't like it and then people who only know half of the story throw in stuff like "piracy hurts the industry"it does very mildly instead of a game making 25 million theoretical profit it might only make 11 million profit buttom line it's only a paper loss it's still a profit it only hurts the FAT CEO's with his hookers lol

for me that's a yes but only for old games i cant get in my country. bad games i delete right away and gud once i buy even if i did a trial run with a pirated versin (i hate demos) Starcraft II for example i pirated first loved it and bought it so it's fine by me no company will get much money even if they did sue me besides downloading in my country is legal only uploading is not. I don't live in the US so they will have a tougher time sueing me. i doubt it's worth the cost to bribe people in my country to do so

BTW i have pirated 0 ps3 games so don't go of saying people from "this scene" pirate coz of CFW. i haven't used it for that although with all the corrupt things sony are doing it is tempting. i have not bought a new ps3 game in over a year and i also boycot all their products also ask people around me to do the same
