quick question;

I now have "my-DEX-flash.EID0.NORBIN.bin" file on my desktop should it be named "my-DEX-flash.EID0.NORBIN.bin" or just "my-DEX-flash.EID0.NORBIN"?

Once that is named properly and flashed "you can now install any DEX FW", what if I flash it but dont install DEX FW? any ill effects?

Also I thought there was a fix for bluray playback for 3.55 dex?

@DEFAULTDNB , should be without the .bin so "my-DEX-flash.EDID0.NORBIN", that's just the way multiman reads it.

If I'm reading this right: to go back to CEX from 3.55 DEX you can use the "flash_stor_35500.bin" created by memdump > renamed to "my-original-cex.EID0.NORBIN" > install it with MM and install 3.55 ofw/cfw:

Glad I could help, I will write a DEX2CEX tutorial once I can get my hands on a flasher, just as a precaution. Don't want to loose my 3.55 console during the holidays

Awesome news, see my post above for my take on how to DEX2CEX (I havent tested this I need confirmation from deank or someone who knows..)

@DEFAULTDNB , that is correct although syscons get changed during the conversion, from 3.55/4.20 DEX. Then a "dehashed" firmware would be needed almost as if downgrading from 4.xx. Also shutting down the ps3 just after flashing back to CEX can cause problems.
Once I can get my hands on a e3 flasher I will write a new tut and help clarify mach confusion about going back to CEX

this guide is great, but I will hold on to the made file for the time being, since "I think" I've read that BD playback doesn't work on DEX? only BD movie playback or BD at all (meaning, the drive is not married to the console)?
