Sounds almost as you haven't played uncharted on the PS3... The screentearing I get on uncharted 1 is intense... Its too annoying and lowers the gameplay experience :/

I have experienced lag in uncharted, and in a ****load of FF XIII cutscenes...****ing sucks

And a bit in a PSN game called Deathspank..

You should check out Digital Foundry, they have done many comparisons over the years on the technical side of things with regards to multiplatform titles and I'd say that around 80% of games run slightly better on the 360 with regards to a stable framerate.

Yeah, good point, I used to use comparison videos to decide which console to buy for ..usually turned out i'd buy for 360

Yeah, I haven't played any Uncharted game. Didn't know about that. FFXIII was good for me, but FFXIII-2 was really laggy.

They should make a game where screen tearing is a special effect/feature of the game play mechanics...

..I'm a genius

Some of the games that require constant reading files or cash in the hdd (Skyrim for example) can have lag problems.
A SSD drive can solve the lag related problems (popup textures too).

But there are some games that a SSD will do nothing...either for hardware limitations of the PS3 or just bad optimization.

It's exactly as "DEFAULTDNB" said in the above post ,also check if your external HDD has got good enough RPM cuz it matters sometimes especially during intense gaming scenes during playing any games it ain't something to worry about , cuz you have your internal HDD if your game lags too much from external HDD.

i'm trying again to play GTA IV right now and i can say that this mfkn console and this mfkn game makes me crazy ! it lags alot. you cant play this game on this console without taking the risk to be angry and crazy. i could throw the ps3 out of my window!
i already installed the latest patch but still lags ! i tried everything.
i got a ps3 slim 320gb and a 200hz tv. still the glitchy sht.
i only can say to the people: dont buy a ps3. buy it only if you get it very very cheap.
now i will turn the **** off and just watch tv again.
