point him to a crossing (the banner/search button) so he can get there and back on his own anytime he wishes? yes

spoonfeeding is not "helping", if it was, then schools/universities would not exist. those places teach you to learn and put a little effort into learning

if a person is incapable of crossing the road at all, they shouldnt be on the road to begin with, that is an obvious fact

same in the scene. if a person cant do a simple task like look at a banner that is on every page or click search then how can they expect to do the task they want?

there is no excuse for laziness. if they search/read but get stuck or dont find a clear answer then cool, ask away, everyone starts somewhere but generally we try to learn before we do something, not jump in unprepared

p.s. only retards refer to the disabled as retards, just sayin.... they have a valid reason for being unable to learn. what excuse do the plain lazy/ignorant have

do we need to accept these constant lazy questions? yes
do we have to be happy all the time? no

back on topic.. this whole "retard" thing bugs me. I won't complain about it or defend the word or the mentally challenged, but I hold it at the same level as using the word "gay" to insult someone or something.

"Man, that song is gay" Really? So these sounds.. actually have a homosexual relationship with other sounds that sound the same/are the same? I will admit I used to use the word, but oddly enough it took a video game for me to realize how stupid and uneducated it makes somebody sound. (that game was Counterstrike as the server I would admin also had a strict no racism or bigotry rule. and it was hilarious as to what people thought 'bigotry' actually meant).

Retard is the same thing. "Oh that's retarded" Are you sure about that? Is that goal your favourite hockey team missed mentally challenged? How about that soup you tried but didn't like.. is that also mentally challenged?

That's just the way I've evolved and started thinking about things... I won't say it's a more mature outlook because I know there are people more mature than myself and my thoughts/views/expressions may not be thought as mature by other people as well but...now I lost what I was going to say.

Oh yes, the way you speak may speak volumes to other people. And while you may not care about how people perceive you or what people think of you, everybody judges each other and acts upon it in certain, maybe minor ways. It's just natural. Maybe you're not brainless and lazy, and you can do something for yourself, but you just chose to go the lazy route and you come off like a ******. That's what people will think of you.

Some people don't have a choice in the matter of growing their brain. Fortunately MOST people can! They just don't think they can.

People should stop believing in aliens and believe in themselves!

*edit*

My grandmother has worked with.. how does she put it..."the retarded children" for over 60 years. She worked with them in the schools, she even took them into her own home with her own children for many years, even myself witnessing the acts when I was a young child. I can say that a lot of these "retards" are a lot smarter than many of the people who are normal. They may not be able to express themselves properly or be able to have a normal conversation, but they are god damn smart!

It sounds bad referring to them as "they" and "retards" but, that's what it was way back in the day. It only got "mentally handicapped/challenged" in the last 20 or so years?

You have a good heart which is the best thing on earth keep it up but also think some people might not have those knowledge and intelligent to learn all this so they prefer the easier way out. There is a lot of noob looking at the volume of sale for the TB dongle.

Have you think of "he might not make it to the other end" (brick) even after reading those tutorial? Let alone coming back. I have read even those good dev also brick their console trying and the chances for noob will be higher.

spoonfeeding is not "helping", if it was, then schools/universities would not exist. those places teach you to learn and put a little effort into learning

Yes, you are right spoon feeding a genius is not right but i,m talking of some people might have study for their whole life to get a degree or might not even get it but some take them 12 years to receive it (abnormal child).

if a person is incapable of crossing the road at all, they shouldnt be on the road to begin with, that is an obvious fact

Life is not always a rose for some people, some even risk their life to cross over to their dream.

same in the scene. if a person cant do a simple task like look at a banner that is on every page or click search then how can they expect to do the task they want?

They might have search everything but their knowledge is limited so they wish someone to give them a helping hand.

there is no excuse for laziness. if they search/read but get stuck or dont find a clear answer then cool, ask away, everyone starts somewhere but generally we try to learn before we do something, not jump in unprepared

Yes. this one i 100% agree with you but i,m saying here that when someone post a question. How do you know that he did not use the search button? But some smart axx will just shoot them "use the search button". Why don't they just answer the noob and see what is their response, from there you can judge whether he did any homework by replying you.

p.s. only retards refer to the disabled as retards, just sayin.... they have a valid reason for being unable to learn. what excuse do the plain lazy/ignorant have

Excuse me for the words i use as i have low education (basic education) level and i might not be good at using words and this make you think i,m a retarded from the words to explain things. But i have work very hard in my life to make a living in this world full of highly educated people.

What excuse??? Let me think of one..........ok if the world best soccer coach to teach you playing football, do you think that you will be the world best player after training double hard than others? But of course it will make you a better understanding player but that does not mean that you can qualify in the team.

do we need to accept these constant lazy questions? yes
do we have to be happy all the time? no
If helping someone who need help and don't make you happy then i think you shall leave the job to others. You can be a good player but you might not be a good coach.

PS: Hope that this is just a discussion with you but i might be wrong as i have not been into your shoe before to face all those retarded question on your pm. But if it is a post on the thread for me i will just try to avoid it if i don't have the mood to answer. If no one answer them they will leave the place.

Personally I hate the word 'retards' used so lightly, but it's part of common language these days so I just try to ignore it and read the rest of the post.

all we ask is that they look to see if its been answered before making asking a question that has been asked a million times

again you missed the point that im only refering to the STUPIDLY obvious questions so how can they have searched and questions in a thread that were answered on the first reply?

i have no idea what point you are trying to make with me but just to be clear one more time as you fail to grasp again i will summarize all i have said for you in a noob way ok..

if people dont like these noob questions, ignore them (that was my first reply reply in this thread)

^^no excuse to not look there

^^helps to look there too

and finally my point was that if they do the above 2 and get stuck then cool, ask away.

in no way did i say dont help but you you would rather have us do everything for them without trying to get them to take the first step

People learn by experience.

If you need to do 10 things to get to your goal, but someone wipes your arse and does the first 8 for you then how the hell can you ever learn?

Simple answer is you cannot, and that is a fact of life and education.

Going slightly off topic now, but still on general theme........ The Main reason that the youth of today as a whole is not even half as intelligent as even 20 years ago is that they are spoon fed it all and taught by rote. They almost never have to work something out for themselves, and this is evident nowhere more than in places like this where they want something but will not, and can not be bothered to learn or even understand basic information given to them.

Mini-Rant over, but just watch this space for a few years more and you will see for yourself how much more basic intelligence drops lol

Being a n00b it's not about the postcount or your registration date.
You can be a n00b even if you registered in 2010 and have 2.100 posts or 90. (I saw some of them).

So it's relative.
The behaviour pattern that proves in a second that the n00b don't want to change and only wants *hit and run* is the one who uses the member introducion section to explain his problems.

P.s: Next time think about giving out your PSN username never posted mine for obvious reasons.
I have to agree to it being relative, look at my registration vs post count, am I a noob ? I have logged on each day for the past 2 years, but prefer to learn and read myself and only post if I really feel its necessary.
So don't just look at a low post count as equating to noobishness.
