On a side note:

You can take Uncharted 3 and kick out ~7gb of data (from ~50gb to ~43Gb) by deleting speech audio for all languages other then english. (BCES01175\PS3_GAME\USRDIR\build\main\sound1\streams\speech)

This ofcourse wont effect the quality of the game or the english audio track, so keep in mind, that a rip wont necessarily be lower quality, then the "full" game.

Good tip Wasn't there an app to remove unneeded data from games?

Something called shrinking the video of the game, or compressing them. Just to reduce the size of it.

Uncharted 3 is pretty decent in 3D. I personally think its one of the best games to show off 3D gaming, its very, very well done but that's just my opinion.

Same goes for Resistance 3, you can remove the PKG files from the PKGDIR. They are only demos. It saves around 7-8GB I think.

I had to do that with Jade Empire on the 360 as it wouldn't fit on a DVD-9.

oh well there are no different "teams" for rips and full ....

the official scenegroups dont rip ps3 games ... if you want copys for whatever reason get them not the stuff you find on many torrentsites and socalled ps3 boards ....

there are many individual people who do that ... thats mostly in every case just one single person and they are in 99,9 % not connected to any of the wellknown releasegroups...

its sometimes like sort of hobby i guess....and most of the time you could do the stuff on your own with almost NO knowledge if you have the skills to use google the almighty collective brain of our planet (sad thing).

ripping its called knowadays....sounds like much to do...but well if you call deleting a directory skillfull then hell yeah there are tons of "groups" out there who can do that

There are only about 2 games with I have come across classed as rips, as mentioned one of those is uncharted 3. The release I found was called something along the lines of 'Uncharted 3 Maximum Compress', the uploader had compressed and downscaled as video to 720p instead f 1080p and ripped the 3D movies to create a smaller upload file.
