Post Resident Evil 6 Your thoughts

RESIDENT EVIL 6

Since there is only a couple of months left for long anticipated and biggest Capcom production yet, lets see what wee should expect.

From what I could see from the trailer and gameplays it looks like this will be another more action oriented game like new modern RE games.
It makes sense because RE5 was their most selling game (sold 5,8 million copies worldwide since launch) And why fix something that isn't broken ?
But what about classic old school RE fans ? It looks like we won't be seeing RE game of that style so everything changes and we should adapt.
And to mention RE5 is least scary of them all( at least for me ) but it also has some horror elements so it can be in that genre.
So will we see more mystery and survival in this title ?

Besides that, new gameplay elements will be added like: sliding, rolling and dropping on back. And if situation is tensions it can be good elements for survival horror. Like doing something in the last second.

But it looks like zombies can again use fire arms and other weapons. It doesn't bother me much but it doesn't feel right.

About environments I think that they done a pretty good job on that. It looks creepy and a lot more frightening that in RE5. It kinda reminds me of RE4.

And this game will have three different storylines. Reminds me of early RE games when you first play with Leon and when you beat it you can play as Claire. Or in RE Code Veronica, first you play as Claire and then as Chris.
Playable characters will be Leon Kennedy, Chris Redfield and new character Jake Mueller ( it looks to me that he has some similar abilities as Wesker.)
And taking the story all around the globe.

And since this is final RE game I am expecting for this series to receive and ending what they deserve.

From what I saw from trailer I am satisfied and I am looking forward to this game

I didn t play more than 5mn the resident evil 5 on PS3, because it s not the type of game i like or can t concentrate enough and get the game play ( so more my own issue than the game)
It seem like others games or other industry, you do one or two first title for specific fans, and after once the title franchise got fans reputation, you do the next for mass.

I don t understand the importance of the zombies for Resident evil. If i m correct, first it was not zombie, so not dead, but regular humans with virus?

In this case, i think fans take it too much, like for Final Fantasy VII, The name franchise being too much important for somes people and they are expecting the exact same thing.

Others games going that way for mass public?

Yeah, RE5 was a total disappointment for me too , but 4 is another story. That game had everything, and I replayed it a countless of times and enjoyed it more than any other RE game. And I hope RE6 will be more like 4.
I agree that changes are important and I don't like to live in past, but when something changes it should change into something better than it was before, and not opposite, don't you agree

I can t really speak about resident evil franchise but the re5 doesn t look bad about visual aspect.

but for final fantasy serie i played some of them. Each time i think it can be a complete new way of playing and i m fine with it.
So the final fantasy XII was nice for me even it was not for others.
I agree fews things still need to remain for being the same license, like name of the country or chocobos but other than that... let s see how it will be and let s be surprise.
I know such things can be important for fans but i try to don t paid attention. May be game producer care also too much about introducing new things in gameplay everything so the critic will said it was improved.

Surprised there was no mention in this thread or the other one about the RE6 demo for the 360 that's been out for over a month - I didn't actually know about it until noticing a post on Kotaku last night!

Anyway, I had to try it because as nice as the videos looked it's totally different getting some hands on time. I'm not really gonna talk about what happens in it too much as I'm sure you've seen the videos, just how it played and what I thought.

First, the demo was split into three selections - Leon, Chris, and Jake.

The Leon part was all slow paced and dark lighting, not much happened tbh. Think they're trying to capture the atmosphere of the older games. When I finally get to some zombies I'd spent most of my ammo trying to shoot an old guy. You now have an actual melee attack instead of a prompt button like the last two. Didn't help me much trying to reach some ammo that was lying on a cop car. Zombies were proper zombies at this point, one of them did smack me with a pole but I'll forgive him.

The Chris section was far more action orientated, maybe too much. The enemies were more in line with RE5, sporting some nice mutated arms and stuff. The animation when they die is taken straight out of the movie Blade! There was just soo much going on, I had no idea where I was getting shot from. Plus the controls just didn't seem tight at all, dunno if this can be tweaked. By the time I got to the end I was feeling motion sick which usually only happens with FPS games. For that reason I didn't even bother with the Jake section.

Both sections I played had a co-op partner, I imagine the Jake levels do too. Hopefully the AI is better than RE5, the amount of times I remember Sheva dying due to being a retard was unforgivable!

This game won't silence the critics who haven't liked the change in tone the series took with RE4. While I prefer the old games myself, as mentioned in another thread, I know that progress has to be made somewhere. Moving while shooting was the final step the series had to take to bring it in line with other third person shooters. Unfortunately for me, the demo didn't control as well as something like Mass Effect.

I'll still be getting RE6 day one and I hope they'll give it the ending it deserves. It looks stunning but I was left disappointed with the controls and motion sick, I hope it doesn't tarnish the memory of a series so close to my heart.

It seems the older Res Evil games concentrated on jumps and scares but the newer ones (4,5,6) seem to rely more on action and while I don't necessarily mind that to a point it appears the further down the series Capcom goes the further away they get from what first attracted me to the series.

her face reminds me of a sparrow, and that is creepy.

OT: I just hope it will be better than RE5.

Exactly, haven't even bothered with 4 or 5.

I watched someone play RE4 on the PS2 about 5 or 6 years or so ago totally wasted after a smoke which is when games normally interest me most and to be honest I was just so turned off never gave it a go since...

...Maybe I should I'm sure it can't be that bad.
