You could use the latest ps3gen to create a new PARAM.SFO for Uncharted 1 and it will then have the attribute you could try to modify to see if in game music will work.

Replace your original SFo with this one, you will have the message saying the music will start in a while, but... please report To make sure you are loading the new SFO ( it will not be a problem but if your xmb is in Spanish, Italian...the title will still be in English because i didn t added those.) Also, this game without attribut got XMB V2. Do you play the game with an update? (for xmb with music it s not the problem because you will see the difference with the message but i wonder if the original version didn t have the xmb v2) edit: @v8s10 do you remember having play this game without the possibility to navigate to xmb when pressing the home button but having only options available like turn the system, controller vibration etc.. The SFo was made quickly, can be more cosmetic with sys fw 1.94 and title in other language but as test purpose it ok, if you got others param.sfo, it will be better to make it with them. Also i added the psp remote play but since it s not recent game i m affraid it will not work. Last edited by Ada Love Lace; 08-11-2012 at 11:24 PM. |

With your edited sfo, i can still access XMB in game. When i try to play music, i get the message saying the music will start in a while, but it doesn't (I didn't play for any length of time though). This is with NO game updates. There is a 1.10 game update that requires 2.40 fw. I can test with that installed if it helps. Edit: I also tried with the 1.10 game update, same result! Like Sandungas said, the fw now understand to allow music in game so the message has changed but the eboot don t got enough to make it. So it s per game, somes games after theirs sfo being edited will work (the one i remember to have test and worked was Child of Eden but irrrc from other thread one war game like cod or the other famous), somes will not like uncharted 1. Other "recent" also will not have music in game like Meruru Atelier ( retail 3.60 signed at the last second by Sony )But you got a really good new is about editing your sfo. For testing purpose, the best is to use hexa editor but for classic reasons ( music in game, psp remote play etc...) so now you have an idea how it work you just need to grab a recent sfo editor (Butnut suggested the best) Check the best page on the wiki about SFO: http://www.ps3devwiki.com/wiki/PARAM.SFO ( @v8s10 , since it s forum, i try to speak more than necessary in case for others readers) edit: may be the music might start after a long while in somes games or according to your setting (if not connected to internet etc...) but it might not be convenient and better to avoid to use this function. From SFo point of view, there are nothing more to do. From other thread, one homebrew having update about music in game was the emulator from Squarepusher, don t know if it was done from eboot or using the new function on FW at that time. Is interesting this game has a patch that requires ps3 firmware 2.40 (same firmware where "XMB background music" was implemented)... but the PARAM.SFO inside the patch doesnt have the flag activated (it doesnt even has ATTRIBUTE) I added it, please try installing this patch v01.10... then replace the PARAM.SFO in the "patch installation folder" dev_hdd0/game/BCUS98103 (not in the backups folder) Uncharted 3 (BCUS98103) Patch v01.10 (TESTS)---> http://www.sendspace.com/file/iyqol8 APP_VER = 01.10 ATTRIBUTE = 20000000 <---- added, marked in blue PS3_SYSTEM_VER = 02.4000 ![]() The original patch link ---> http://b0.ww.np.dl.playstation.net/t...0-V0101-PE.pkg APP_VER = 01.10 PS3_SYSTEM_VER = 02.4000 ![]() Lest see if this works... |

Ok, I tried replacing the sfo in the game update folder, when i try to play music in game i get "Music content cannot be played during use of this game". Its like its still using the game sfo, rather than the update sfo. |

But because there are different type of update etc... you can still have the new sfo booting from disc and the one from update being used as cumulative but not taking off (sorry it s really bad explanations and i m not sure about it, never really fully tested) So....i can see two more things to test: sfo edited from disc like the first time you tested but with the update. If my idea of cumulative update and sfo is fine, you will music in game (but not working), the sfo from update being used only as "bonus". There are other thing, when you boot the second time the new sfo is now really used (for psn game at least) For SFO and update...even with different title name (you change a little the title of the game so you know which SFo is loaded but i suspect some parameters are not) But for strictly about music in game, system version 2.50 (or so) being a good way to check but not everytime. I also suspected Sony to have block it on some games, like i suspect psp remote play not working in purpose in some game. Thanks you for your tests. |

You will realize that my file has been loaded by XMB because i used the TITLE: Uncharted: TEST *You have to see this in screen before booting the game to be 100% sure that the new modifyed file has been correctly "indexed by XMB database" Last edited by sandungas; 08-12-2012 at 12:55 PM. |
