You still need a flasher. This is only a way to patch your backup. Patch with this, then flash to your PS3. Then continue with FSM downgrade.
Just tried it and it works great!

Brenza, if you have a e3/progskeet you can dump with them. No need preloader,and with E3 method you can do the patch so easily like this one.
playerkp420, always need a flasher, but using this method the only way to reflash with E3 is in FLASH FUN mode(soldering thirth state point). I dont use progskeet but asume rogero is the easiest way in that case. This tool patch from offset 0c0010 to 5fcc90 of coreos. Didnt try yet. Last edited by * PLAYER 1; 08-11-2012 at 06:30 PM. |

Also to flash a patched backup, you do not use flash fun mode. Flash patched backups with all switches down. This is what I just did. My converted to DEX slim was on DEX 4.20. I accidentally put it in FSM, and was stuck. I did not solder tristate. I used FLASH FUN mode flashed my original CEX 4.21 backup. Which I could of skipped that step. But after flashing I thought I would give this new patcher a try. So then I patched my original CEX 4.21 backup, with the instructions from the readme.txt. Flashed my patched backup with all switches down. Then continued with FSM downgrade to Rogero v3.5. Now I'm off the convert back to DEX. LOL.
