TL:DR but looks interesting..

Increase the number of games in ps3gen.

ps3gen after formatting creates only 4 games.

You can create up to 255 games (FF in hex)

You will need a hex editor.

You can easily make any partition size to 2TB. For example: you want to make a 500GB partition. Change the byte 1 to 3E and byte 2 to 80.

Enjoy!

When did you get the writing errors?
When you created the partitions or when you started transferring the files/creating the build?
Also, what is the size of your external drive?

I just made 30 partitions (as a POC) and creating the partitions went without a hitch.
Just copied my first game (Batman AC) to it and it shows no problems so far (completed copying).
Haven't tried it yet though.

Now I'm unrarring Uncharted 3 (the full version including 3D & All languages so a total of 45.4 GB of size) and I'm gonna try to see if I can copy that one as well. (time remaining for unrarring 50 minutes so will take some time before I update )

If all partitions are the same size, it shouldn't work on my HDD since it's around 700 GB meaning every partition should be 700 : 30 = 23,3 GB.
If the partitions aren't generic it means you could easily store 30 games on it no matter the size of the games (assuming your HDD is big enough ofc)

BTW When you tried 10 partitions, what was the number you set under A?
You know that 10 in hexadecimal is 0A right?
If you entered 10 under A it means you would try to create 16 partitions and it should give an error if you didn't have B 16 times.

Any specific reason why you think this or just good old fashion hope?

Update 1:
So far so good.
Image is building like normal.
It's @ 30% - 30 minutes remaining.

Update 2:
Building went without a hitch.
Copied the full UC 3 game to my external.
Haven't tested if it works yet.
Can't find a USB stick to install the update first and my 2nd external doesn't connect to my PC....
The USB connection seems to broke, gonna change the controller from another older external HDD (or resolder the current one)

Update 3:
Well.... Me fixing the external drive took a bit longer then expected and to pass the time I went all out and copied 10 games to my external drive.
All building went without any trouble (no errors whatsoever) but there did arise a problem when I was done and tried to run a game.
When I put my HDD in the PS3, it didn't show any games...
Tried 2 partitions but both were a no show, even a game I tried before....
Reformatted my drive with my PS3 again (did it with ps3gen previously) and I'm gonna give it another go...

Interesting that it seems to be crapping out for everyone at 10 games. I got 10 on without trouble, but I get error 00052100 on the 11th, no matter which it is and no matter which partition I use.

That was exactly my problem, when I tried to make 10 partitions at once. But then after I formatted, I tried to make partitions one by one (create one, save it, try game, create another one, save it, try game, create another one... and so on) So far I got 6 working partitions - no problem. Haven't tried anything else yet, because I had to go to work ;P

Some peps in other forums are reporting trouble when installing more than 10 games, so test if you can with +10 games (I don't have DEX)

Maybe its cause its just us amateurs going at it and we need the devs to step in and just modify it for us lol

Nah... it's because it's reserving 50,051,678,208 bytes of space for each partition, no matter how big the games actually are. The size of a dual-layer Blu-Ray disc is 50,050,629,632 bytes (exactly 1MB less). This size is also about 1/10 of the actual capacity of a "500GB" drive (mine is really 465.76 GB).

Sounds legit, cuz on my 40 gb hard drive I can't install even second game (when I try to do so I have 00052100 error).
