[using my method]
I checked an old version of multiman 02.07.01 , might just have to downgrade version to get ps2-hdd/usb backups ![]() 02.07.01 displays "playstation2 game disc loaded" [path/usb/] (experimental) , and that was made from a disc DVD backup of marvel vs capcom 2(with multiman). but just exits back to xmb after pressing ok , also read (and backed up) a cd backup of swapmagic XD the game folders are just the files from the discs. that was before i installed bdemu2 (i was getting the nag) , now i get param.sfo not found (is it possible to make one for ps2?) anyways figured this might help progress.

so i think the problem is we have at the moment ps2_softemu.self from 2.60 but i think we have to replace it with the one from 2.70 an the ps2_gxemu.self too i have try to resign the 2.70 files but i failed. scetool don't compress it, i have try many think but no not compressed i get.
I look at the moment in the ps2 classic pkg to understand 3.55 why do not realize this when it was installed. maybe it is enough if we patched things like vsh, sprx and some xml files i dont think we need to patch lv2 if some one like to try and investigate it to http://tinyurl.com/c7hchgo |

also when i press select and x on a real ps2 disc it gives me: /dev_bdvd/param.sfo not found?? lol so i went back to 02.07.01, and (with ps2patch + PL3 3.55) i did manage to mount a ps2 hdd backup of swapmagic, i can browse the files on dev_bdvd, dev_ps2disc and app_home with xmbm+ file manager and they have been changed from the demo disc i had in for the swapmagic files from my backup on hdd, but when launched it was the demo disc in the disc-drive that booted app_home just gave an error.and @sandungas would dex ps2_softemu work, are they the same as cex? I had a look at the 2.60 cex ps2_softemu.elf with HxD searched for elf and a good few come up: Click here to see full text

(do i just copy and paste as new?) maybe copy over old internal elfs for new XD i also found a few game id's SLPS25200(Final Fantasy XI) , SCUS9726(Ratchet & Clank Going Commando) , SLPM65981(Front Mission Online) , SLPM65197(Nobunaga's Ambition Online) i think are hdd install games, anyhow hope this helps i'll keep looking.

The other HDD installable format is "ps2 classic" ... this was implemented in 3.70 (iirc) so there is no way to boot it in 3.55 and no option for deank to implement anything related in multiman I say this because the only reason that is asking about a PARAM.SFO... is because PS3 thinks is a HDD game, or a PS3 disc game (ps2 discs doesnt have a PARAM.SFO, neither an ICON0.PNG) ---------------------- I cant help you too much with the emu files, i never taked a look at them, i just was helping a bit to mysis to point in the right direction when patching XMB restrictions The other day eussnl added some lists, i think are from cex emu .self's (im not 100% sure) http://www.ps3devwiki.com/wiki/Talk:...on#PS2.2FPStwo And this ones are installed in a "ps2 virtual hdd" http://www.ps3devwiki.com/wiki/Talk:Emulation#PS2_HDD The PARAM.SFO used by this ones is generated by the "PS2 System Data. pkg" (and his ICON0.PNG i think is the one used by the same "PS2 System Data") http://www.ps3devwiki.com/wiki/Emula...ool_package.29 Last edited by sandungas; 08-11-2012 at 07:07 PM. |

lol, thats a bit negative , after all we know a bit more now, like a ps2 backup can be made and mounted on ps3 from a disc back up on a non-BC without factory service mode.
and i've just found this. http://pastie.org/4392598 so @sandungas do we need to patch (or grab old) premo_game_plugin and premo_plugin? (i doubt i can patch with lv2patcher?) might fix audio, vmc and controller issues?? idk, also whats the reason for factory service mode? will i damage my ps3 by not using it? the one big problem is the soft reset when the ps2softemu boots (killing any mounting) anyways i added the ps2 patch to my PL3 3.55 patch and looks to be working but need to test more.

What are the chances deank himself will admit partial cobra defeat and re-add PS2 back into MM now that this revelation has come to light?

For the sake of trying something out, I tried decrypting ps2_softemu.self from 3.55, editing one of the SLUS 2**.** entries to match a disc I had lying around in the decrypted ps2_softemu.elf with a hex editor then reencrypting ps2_softemu.elf. I transferred it back to dev_flash (dev_blind).
After running boot_ps2.pkg with my modified ps2_softemu.self, YLOD. ![]() I'm probably doing something wrong or I just don't understand how the process of editing self/elf files (if its possible). I'm using scetool 0.2.8. Last edited by Mustapha; 08-13-2012 at 02:17 PM. |
