Ye I read that, but you know, I don't want to cut up stuff in my PS3 you know.

Also that dual boot, can you leave the original firmware on the ps3 and then install custom firmware on the extra nor provided by tweensy?

(I read that you can add an extra nor or is that E3 Flasher only?)

Hmm, i've stumbled upon something interesting, I read that you can't play online with the 3.55 CFW.. But I read something about customer consoles, and Developer consoles.

(You can't acces PSN with the 3.55 CFW because you don't have the latest update installed I guess?)
Anyway if you use this tool called, cex2dex you can however update to the latest firmware and play online, with backups, because apparently you would have a developer console.

So my question is,

if I downgrade my PS3 to 3.55, install the CFW, foolow the Cex2Dex tutorial..
Will I then eventually be able to play on PSN even if I am using backups?

?? the TEENSY++ doesnt have a NOR chip its a dev tool and with @judges NorWay program installed on it then it can read / write / flash NOR chips

if it did have an onboard NOR chip then judges would have said you can fast dual boot.
it is only E3 Flasher that has an onboard NOR chip

where are you getting this infomation from??
you cannot run backups on psn even with a DEX
for one we dont have the latest DEX firmware
and second the DEX unit is for testing not accessing the psn

NB when you "read somewhere" then post a link so we can see the info you are refering to.
that way we can advise you better

Ah, k.

Also, if you want to play the newer games you need a TB dongle I believe?, but according to a game I downloaded (the readme/help/info file) said that with a new technique the dongle is no longer needed.

Is this true?

It's in Dutch so I'll translate it.

Code:
Code:
The E3 Nor Flasher makes it possible to downgrade your Playstation 3
from firmware 4.11 back to 3.55, which allows the use of MultiMAN,
a backup manager for your Playstation 3.
IMPORTANT: TO use this feature you will need a True Blue Dongle if
you want to play the NEWEST games.

it's legit , but the whole "is-duplex-working-for-tb" thing is definitely plausible.
