[QUOTE=datemorphi;412099]why its not a full dump? it has exactly the same size as it has when i dump the nor flash with teensy board!

yes i was wrong (see a few posts on)
i thought it was NOR software dumps but its NAND software dumps that are not dumped in full so please ignore what i put in red

i assume you have the volt reg soldered so when remove it and connect the vcc to the ps3 (DO NOT TURN THE PS3 ON WHEN THIS IS CONNECTED infact remove the ps3's power cable and put it out of reach) then you will find it will now write & flash your NOR

how do you mean that - i somehow use an external power supply for my teensy board - so when i should not power my ps3, where do i get some current ;-)?

[QUOTE=haz367;412047] @baileyscream , lol
i found hard to have enough patience to finish the job, although my soldering wasn't bad(confirmed) but i wasn't sure of it, gave in and made contact with a solder pro, he then re-soldered the Teensy and i'm good, sometimes a guy have to admit defeat, keep in mind i never soldered fine stuff before so a bit way of my head, and maibe i could have done it myself, i'm sure its great feeling if one finish this project on his one..it was to hard for me btw Mushy got some stuff in the make (WIP Dual boot Teensy) i've seen a picture, he sure knows his stuff..okay enough about my crappy solderjob
i'd like to see that pic if you dont mind messaging me it (obviously it wont be shown to anyone else. i'm just interested)

i have no problem with Teensy/NORway apart from build 0.5 beta3?!, only that build didn't work for my setup = 0000/zero bytes dumps..each time, also "judges" can't tell the problem why only zero's on that build and "spansion NOR".. beats me to, i only know the setup was tested&working with NORway 0.4(only dumps!!) i then updated to OFW4.20 and downgraded back with "patched" dump, worked for 04/0.5 Beta 5?(the one attached) and 0.5 final, have not tested 0.6 beta
only with one NORway build i had problems yes, it can't be the setup if u ask me
and the softwaredump vs hardware dump, atleast for me they are identical, it may be different for NAND, i've seen it mentioned a couple times before, cex2dex thing/linux, verified those dumps against hardware/e3 dumps, also the same
yea i was thinking of the NAND and mistakenly thought it was NOR.

about the topicstarter's situation, i'm not sure, if the software dump is clean, why would it not work and because he asked about TRIST_N=LOW being his problem, i responded it should be OK as mine is the same and working, if all this is fixed by removing the voltage regulator and also fixing a FSM problem..great stuff, i have not seen this on my end+using a FSM dongle anyway, but hey i'm just another guy who can't pro solder so wtf i'm doing in the topic hehe thx for clearing up some NORway confusion, only problem after this it confuses me even more lol....oh well it works..its all good...

the softwaredump @datemorphi have there is cex-cfw355 before bricking, sure the dump is verified? or did u mispatch/dex it and bricked because of that? if the second and cexdump is OK, it should write it back, atleast we all think it should right...try diff builds..i'm just trowing ideas u might have considered already goodluck anyway!
@datemorphi could try different write commands and see if any of them work and he could try moving the wires a bit like i advised you also i assume the ps3 does halt?

(edit: i miss read your comment forget what i put before)

the power comes from the usb so by removing the volt reg and connecting the vcc to the ps3 and removing the ps3's power lead then both the TEENSY++ and ps3's NOR are powered by the pc via the usb cable

external psu?? can you explain what your using to power it and where your connecting this to the TEENSY++

the power comes from the usb so by removing the volt reg and connecting the vcc to the ps3 and removing the ps3's power lead then both the TEENSY++ and ps3's NOR are powered by the pc via the usb cable

i cut the 5v trace and shortened the 3.3v pads
but my teensy only gets recognised when i power it externaly with a 3.3v source
now i connected 3.3v pad on teensy(where i shortened the pads i put a cable on it) with vcc on ps3 - pc recognises it only when ps3 is powered and on

is there something wrong?

edit:
i had an external 3.3v source - so i never had a voltage regulator installed on teensy - now it is connected as described above

yes

go to my guide HERE select the TEENSY++ guide.
make sure you have everything downloaded and installed from my guide.
then follow the guide.
after the verifying step swap your dump via TEENSY++ with your .pkg created backup then carry on following the guide with the backup dump.

my guide is based on the wiki (dumbed down) and infomation directly from judges
so it is a fool proof guide

........................................................
the volt reg was to stop too much voltage going to the ps3 it had nothing to do with powering the TEENSY++ as it gets its power from the pc via usb
