It returning to the XMB is probably due to exitspawn failing (see above for an explanation as to why this would hapen on DEX).

Based on your explanation, i understood that exitspawn is about loading a self from an EBOOT.BIN. Now, it's just a single EBOOT.BIN, no other self gets involved. And as long as some application files are created (like cache and settings) doesn't that mean that the application actually works, since some lines of code worked?

I am also interested to get Showtime on 4.11 DEX so I can stream movies to my PS3 (since DLNA streaming is gone when I switched to DEX from CEX).

Any updates on that?

All I know is there are 3.55 DEX pups floating around that allow you to install and run psuedo retail pkgs (homebrew) and showtime will work fine. You can downgrade and upgrade easily. Use newer FW for newer games, and the prepatched 3.55 DEX MFW to run all the homebrew goodies

yeah, and it works fine..ty @carldenning !..watched some mkv's and playing some tunes atm 3.4 has some mp4 playback trouble(frees) so hopefully carldenning get some newer ones working otherwise run the files true "mkvtoolnix" and they play fine

also don't forget rogero's DEX MFW. It does what kamel's was patched to do and is also downgrade ready

edit:apparently some users are claiming there are issues with the downgrade patches of this MFW. I am sure they will be ironed out soon enough though.

Congrats @carldenning for fixing showtime so that it is playable on DEX firmware.
