Great news, but does this mean we need to wait for the TB team to release a games fix before we get that game ? I mean I imagine cracking the TB DRM is the hardest thing, if someone gets to figure out the method TB team uses to release game fixes, and release it to the community, we'll get our fixes a lot faster right ?

Great news! So this is a reversal of the DRM that TB implemented on their hacked eboots, but am I right in thinking we still dont know how TB team actually hacked those eboots to work on 3.55 in the first place?

The above question might be moot if whatever method they were using only worked upto a certain FW, say 4.11 or something? Presumably Sony changed the encryption after TB team started releasing patches.

What Im saying is we still dont know how to decrypt the original eboot, or does this now not matter because their method (whatever it was) doesn't work on newer games? (Havent seen a new TB patch for a while now...)

My TB unbrick code (modified busninja) has been up on github for months for an atmega328 (dumpninja)... no one bothered to ask about it and I lost interest after some personal stuff made it a very low priority. Never released it because the process was quite convoluted, the controller app for the FLASH read/write electronics I designed was in need of polishing, and required some pretty extreme skills to accomplish.

Also Mongoose was about Cobra, not TB. (Mongooses (Mongi?) kill cobras) The TB security was actually lower. A simple reflash with a backup would unbrick the TB. Additionally, all features of the Cobra Dongle WERE released. FSM, one, PS2 play on all models. ;-)

I do not understand why everyone is so excited about this. Aren't you people tired of messing around with stupid eboots? I mean if half the time and energy that went into screwing with these so called "fixes" was spent towards finding newer keys then we wouldn't be messing with eboots in the first place.

I didn't realise I could play PS3/PSP/PS1 backups all in ISO mode on the PS3.......

One doesn't let you play ISO's from the HDD like Cobra.

The PS2 play on all models isn't for backups like Cobra.

So looking at that, no all Cobra Dongle features WERE NOT released, correct me if I'm wrong.....
