I think choosing a side or party before you know their policies is just ridiculous. Here in America a lot of people vote Republican just because that's what their parents told them they were. Others vote just out of spite. For instance, voting for Romney because Obama is black. I was a political science major for 3 years before I grew disgusted by what I learned of politics and changed my major. I've noticed that a lot of people argue politics out of ignorance and spite. I see a lot of public opinion over fact. The bottom line is that politics are all about a politician's ability to manipulate voters into getting what the politician wants. Politics pertain mostly to the wealthy and have almost nothing to do with the poor. Take the recession for instance. It never affected poor people at all. They always have, still do, and always will live paycheck to paycheck. The recession didn't affect them at all. In 2008, six months before the recession George Bush gave out 160 billion dollars worth of stimulus checks to the poor. Each person received roughly $800.00. They in turn spent that money and it landed back in the pockets of the rich. See what he did there? We still hit recession. Why does Obama have to create jobs? Because they were all lobbied over seas to the cheapest bidder by greed corporate execs at the expense of the American economy and the American workers. In America we definitely like our political pleasures with pain. That's why Bush was voted in office not once but twice. He followed close on the heels of President Clinton who was the first president since Andrew Jackson to create surplus from the deficit by doubling that deficit from 5 trillion to 10 trillion. He wasted 3 trillion in a needless Iraqi war. During this time he also set the record for vacation time taken by a sitting president. Americans just sat back and watched silently for the most part as all this unfolded. Enter President Obama. The GOP hates him more than they love America. He will go down in history as a much better president than Bush but politicians would try to manipulate us into voting the same policies back in office that got us into this mess in the first place. The GOP's policy has become one of obstructionism. They are more focused on regaining power in the Oval Office than they are helping America. It doesn't make sense that they don't want to do anything to help American at the risk of making Obama look good. They've been fuming since they lost the election in 2008. I don't know why they are so mad when they stole the 2000 election in the first place. Politics is a very dirty game indeed and it's very divided in America right now. And it's basically a class war.

Personally I think of myself as about 70% socially conservative while I would consider myself about 90% economically liberal. I'm pretty sure that's what Jesus would be if he were to choose.

Bottom line, I always try to choose the lesser of two evils.
